Hello,
I was fixing the problem described in http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44216. Everything went fine undtil i open and closed the door. Then it stayed shut :(.

Now when i am pulling the inner and outher door handle i can feel resistsance in the cable so it is connected to something. But nothing happens.

I can lock and unlock the door without problems. I can see the "pin" by the window is moving up and down so it locks and unlocks without any problem.

anyone got an idea how to get it open?

Regards,
Dennis

deadlocks? - please explain?
I have unlocking with the key, remote and the control panel for the windows.

The door locks and unlocks - but it seems like the open/close thing for the door i ****ed.

I had i simmular problen the lock to the trunk. after opening it manuelle with a very long skrewdriver everyting worked fine. So i was hoping something like that could fix the problem with the front door

:(

The 'deadlocks' are actually just a mechanism that dis-engages the lock from the handle - when it's all working normally, if you click the 'lock' button on the keyfob once the doors lock but anyone inside can still get out using the interior handle.
If you click it twice, the deadlocks are activated and neither handles work (same as the problem you're having here)

Is is actually possible to get to all this if you're prepared to be a bit brutal - you need to power the window all the way down and then lift the top of the doorcard away. If you can wedge something down the gap you may be able to get a hand and some tools to the access hole near the lock to check eveything's still connected (sounds like it is) and pop the lock open manually from inside the door.

I started to wonder.
On the following picture the doorlock has been opened. And the little engine in the doorlock isnt that the one responsible for enabled and disabling the deadlock?

Because then i should be able to cut the wiring to the door lock (there are only 6 or 8 wires so finding the pair going to the motor should be that hard), apply 12v to the 2 wires and the lock should engage again right?

That's the one.

You could try it, but not wishing to sound defeatest I think it'll more likely be a faulty soleniod than a wiring problem.

I know what I'd do now - but this is an extreme solution - get a spare door card and lock mechanism from a scrappers and rip everything off from inside the car - you can get to enough of the bolts to be able to take the inner metal skin off the door and pop/replace the mechanism.

problem solved :)
I had mounted the wire to the outside door handle to tight. After giving the door a few bumps i could open it :)
The wire was loosended a bit and now everything works :)
