I have a 2001 leon 20vt sport (cupra), I bought new, that is just done 100k.

I have done the last 70,000 miles with a Jabbasport re-map to 220bhp and a Forge DV. I had the turbo changed (by Seat, £1400) at 80,000 miles and this made a huge difference, it really picks up well now.

The cam belt kit was changed at 35k when I had trouble with the pump, and i have just booked her in for 100k major service and another cam belt. All work always done at SEAT.

My leon has done over 50k of the 100k on the M5 so clutch, suspension etc all still ok. A 50k car, that been thrashed around town will probably been knackered after 6 years, so you really would be better off with one that has higher miles, loads of history and only a couple of owners.

I love my leon; its fast comfortable, reliable and can even do 40mpg if you are carefull!

I have been looking for a replacement lately, but cant find anything I like. The new Cupra is ok, but I really dont like the interior, looks a bit naff IMO. I have driven all the latest crop of hot hatches and the only one I liked was the Golf GTI! (how can it be £20k?) In all other instances, I was v happy to get back in my beloved Leon.

Hope this has helped

With that many miles in 4 years you know it's gotta be pretty well used and will prob have Motorway miles and probably a lease/company car which get fully maintained.

thanks for you advice lads. I have a 2003 Leon 1.6 S with 50,000 miles on the clock. I looked on some valuation websites and it says my car is worth about £4k!! I really don't think this an accurate valuation and feel my car is worth more than this. Anyone go any experience with this? Thanks

So frustrating! I'm new to all this and love the Leon so really want to stick to the Leon so am looking to get a Cupra T model then just changing the bumpers, suspension, alloys (already got), exhaust...

Just need to find the Cupra now...!

LCR and LC serve different driver-bases, I think.

225BHP is a lot of power through the front-wheels. Generally speaking, I'd want RWD or AWD for anything over 200BHP because I don't trust myself with my tyres.

I'm replacing them regularly anyway, due to my aggressive driving style. My next car is likely to be an S3. So that's 225BHP Quattro, obviously. I'll never get an LCR. I'll just shift to Audi for that kind of power.

Just on this note - my LC has just done 95k miles and is seemingly running pretty well. A few niggling problems recently, but nothing major really.

My car is also a 2003 facelift version, (which has a "few" mods, lol, electric leather seats, centre armrest etc) and I've been told to expect no more than about 5k for it, which when you consider seeing 1.4's/1.6's at the same price really does get you down :(

Car will be on the market in the not-too-distant future if things at work go the way I think (redundancy) as I'll be spending the extra money + my car on something a bit more special :D

Whatcha got in mind, Pabs?

Follow me to the S3 camp! We can drive about together and hug in the moonlight while our S3s purr in the background.

What?

Supra for the win, mate.

I gave some thought to the Celica GT-Four. Something sensual about 2.0Turbo 4wd capable of 300BHP without even being stretched.

Maybe we can hug still? :):):)):::)

Shutup and hug me. *Spoken in over-dramatic vintage black and white movie way*

Yeh, anyway.. Supra would be a little manic. Single turbo or twin, or N/A? Manual or Auto? Targa or coupe?

I'm new to the forum, as I'm looking at buying a (slow) leon :)

If you are, can you send me some details and also whereabout you're based?

Thanks
