Funny that Seat didn't make a better job of it really isn't it,

Out with me trusty stanley at the weekend then, when i've finished decorating the living room... :rolleyes:

Is the SMIC still the standard one? I like the idea of doing this mod, I have the facelift LC, do you get better airflow from bumper to Intercooler with the facelift bumper over the older bumper like yours?

I'm aware of that, my question was whether you still had the original SMIC or had gone for a uprated Forge model?

Just to confirm,you have removed(sealed or what) front entry to intercooler & replaced with the one under the arch ?

I did this yesterday, really easy probably took 30 mins.

ND - is it as easy as removing the fog in front of the I/C and airflow is increased or do you have to remove any plastic rubbish from the bumper? I've already sacrificed the fog on the other side for cold air feed.

Did this mod at the weekend cheap and no harm in trying to get a bit better flow to standard IC. I also drilled out a line of holes on plastic trim where spot light is to try and increase air flow a little. Also put a fine mesh behind vents to ensure no debris gets in. Only problem I have is tyre is catching lourves when I reverse on full lock. My alloys are 8.5j and I have 20mm spacers on front tyres 225/40/18's.

Anyone else had this issue? Might have to try and close in gap between grills on vent.

I had that same problem. I used a small hammer to punch the louvres in a couple of mm's (only need to do this in the middle of the louvres).

I had the issue with my 18" 225/40/18 as well, no problems with my 205/55/16 winter setup.

This is my attempt, quite pleased with it...




I also trimmed out this vent and removed a piece of restrictive plastic from inside. No noticable gains but I feel like I have done something positive in theory :)
