Firstly,hello everyone.

Secondly,i have just bought (yesterday)a 2004 54 Leon Cupra R 225,and i know they respond well to remaps,so when i pick it up on Thursday,i would really like to get one done asap.

I know Revo seem to be the main name in VAG Group Remaps, but i have been in touch with a company called DMS,who do their own stuff, and they seem to know what they are talking about.

They advertise in magazines like EVO,and seem to specialise in prestige stuff like BMW's/Merc's etc,but also do VAG group stuff.

Has anyone else had a Leon or anything else remapped by them, and if so,are you pleased with the results??

Also, any recommendations for the next stage of upgrades after the remap is done would be greatly received!!!

Incidently, because the garage i bought the car from did not want me clocking up anymore miles in the car i part ex'ed,they have given me an Ibiza FR 150 petrol to use until i pick up the Leon, and i have to say,it's seems like a pretty good car.I thought it would seem slow after being used to 343bhp,but it picks up and goes really well.....................needs lowering though!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, all help and advice will be greatly received.

Hi, Revo is a very popular Tuner on here and many of the Vag Forums, however power tends to peak very early but high giving that turbo 'rush' but then dies off just as quickly, it all depends upon how you want the power delivered. Have a look at Custom Code, the phase 1 out strips a lot of other tuners phase 2 custom remaps and is ultra smooth with good well thought out map parameters.

Welcome!

My Revo doesn't drop off that bad, in fact its still producing beyond standard and doesn't start to drop off until 6500rpm which is plenty.

You can't really go wrong with most of the main brands, there will be fans of all on here. Each car can react quite differently to different remaps and components which I find strange. So you have choices of jabba, APR, Revo, custom code etc.

I personally would be slighly nervous using someone that noone had heard of, get a before and after RR run, that way you can ensure that you got value for money and that there are no problems.

So looking at the link that FEEL has posted on here, the majority of you seem to think that the DMS remaps are not very good???

Having said that, the Revo one does not seem to get universal praise from some people either, with power tailing off early,am i right?????

Is the JBS,and similar custom code remaps Revo ones,or are they a Remap in their own right?

Thats the first time I'd heard about them, I'd certainly not seen that other thread before.

Revo can cause a few problems from time to time but the dealers and Revo themselves work to iron out any problems rather than leave you cold. I had a small problem when mine was done but it was diagnosed and fixed (and diddn't cost me anything).

JBS is a custom remep. Nothing to do with Revo I don't htink.

Take note... Revo is NOT a custom remap, its a generic remap. The same code goes on all cars. Custom remappers work out a map that is perfectly suited to your car.

That said you drive a Generic SEAT and the generic code your generic car arrived with when you bought it was pretty darn good.

Most tailored remaps aren't very 'special'

Depends on your Budget

Under £100 each
EIP Short shifter
Dog Bone Engine mount
Front strut brace from an Audi S3
Forge 007 recirc Dump Valve
Ditch the Pirelli tyres for Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3

Over £100
Coilvers (don't go too low though probably 20-25mm max if you drive your car every day)
Front and Rear Neuspeed anti-roll bars
Bit of info on suspension I did on my old car if your really bored ;) http://www.westecperformance.co.uk/customerreviews/suspension.pdf
Quaife or Peloquin ATB Diff

IMO exhaust isn't worth doing till you change the turbo

Cheers for the other recommendations mate,i think i will get a quick shift aswell, where can i get one from??

As for the coilovers,i had some FK's on one of my last cars (MK4 Golf)and while they were better than standard,i did not rate them as highly as some people do.

I have had a look at the custom code site, and the closest dealer to me is a place/person called BADGER 5,has anyone heard of them, they are based in Gloucester, and if so,are they any good??

Badger 5 = Bill Brockbank = Ibizacupra on these forums.
Top bloke and he is also a Revo dealer.

Forge in Gloucester also recently did me a remap and that was excellent too

Thanks, but i can assure you,you could probably fit it to my car easier from Bedfordshire, than i could with it on my drive (when i get it)...................a mechanic i am NOT!!!! Luckily, the mechanic i use IS very good, and cheap too,but as the Leon will be the 7th car in the last year that he has carried out mods/servicing etc on,he is kind of use to me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S.I don't suppose any of you have a Vauxhall VX220/VX220 Turbo sat around that you want to sell have you,as i am desperate to buy one...........just to make the car count 8 in a year.......................oh,and to have some real fun in,without the missus screaming
