Hey people. So I have had an ongoing misfire issue since buying my new car a few weeks ago. Well after replacing coil packs, plugs, injectors,I did a compression test 100psi on cyl 1. The car runs but feels lumpy doesent rattle or knock you wouldent think it was a valve as it seems to go after 3k revs. Anyone have any previous experience in the internals of these engines? Would the head of the valve be rattleing around or could it just be worn? Don't know if to just put new valve or few in get the head gasket, cam belt kit etc but then if the bore is scored because of a loose valve I'm into it further. Or I could but a fresh engine for a thousand of gods beans and get a gauntreed new engine with forged Pistons. I've only just bought it 12 days ago and spent a fortune. What do people think?

Sorry to hear that mate. I'm no engine expert but I don't think you won't know much unless you take the head off too see if it's a dodgy valve or blown piston ect.
Might be worth finding a garage you trust to get there opinion.

leakdown test may reveal the source but the proof is inevitable,as you will need to remove the head anyhow

Well we stripped it today the rings are fried bore is OK Pistons worn to shizzle one of the cams was scuffed on cyl4 exhaust side...... Verdict..... New reconditioned bam engine forged internals capable of running 350-400 without needing further modding and warrentyd for a year. Found a broken hard plastic pipe from the pcv 3 way hose at the top of the engine and it leads down into the depths so I'll replace that and the starter as it is showing signs of wear.
Looks like I'll be keeping the car for a good couple of years now, I've even got the seatcupra.net logo in the back windows lol. So it'll have a new forged engine, new turbo, forge tip, performance filter, new plugs coil packs injectors, starter, revo remap, full decat from turbo to rear the down pipe looks cool, lowered 20 mil on springs etc yellowstuff all round with ebc grooved discs should be a dooer!
