Yeah just a bit of an oily smell but I just set the heater to recirculation when stationary and stops it coming in. I think routing the front pipe longer and into the exhaust tunnel with cure this.

I had it up on the ramp at work and the pipe looked bone dry on the inside of the pipes, haven't seen any oily spots etc on the driveway. It's definitely worth doing, the amount of oil in the pipework when I took the intercooler out made me go for it. Plus cleaner intakes means less worrying about the valves clogging up

I'm going to get the r-tech pcv delete ordered, and I'll get it fit before I go for the valve clean and rfd.
Do you think it would be easier to access the front pcv hose when the intake manifold is off? Just thinking the hose goes down and under the manifold might have a little bit more room with it out the way.

Definately worth doing while the manifold is off, much more room although just be mindful of the routing of the pipe as may make it a tad fiddly on putting inlet back together

Yeah if you are going to fit it whilst manifold is off just remove pipe once off then refit new one once manifold is back on as it clips back on way easier than it comes off.

As Alex knows I had a nightmare getting it off lol

Reason I fitted mine now was to give the system time to dry out prior to valve clean etc

Cheers lads, sounds like a good idea removing the pipe while the manifold is off and put the new hose on when the manifold is back on so it doesn't get in the way.

That is good reason to fit before the valve clean but for couple of hundred miles for the system to dry out after the valve clean I can't see it making much if any mess on the clean valves.

Haha cheers buddy, still got the lower bit to do and then the rear lights to tint. Will probably get the rear badge done at the same time.

I wouldnt tint those alfa inspied rear lights, they will spoil the look of the rear end.
Nice, I'm not sure if I'll go the turbo back exhaust or just get a sports cat for stage 2.

I'm going for Revo for my map as they are 2 minute drive up the road from me, and had their software on my golf before. Plus I know the manager and one of my mates work there, so got some discount :)

Wow, nice car! I can't wait to modify mine to a similar extent. How loud is it with a decat out of interest? Guessing it won't pass emissions now?

Nice Update Alex want to do the dash a different colour but can't make my mind up on either satin or gloss black

Where did you get your steering wheel done buddy looks spot on :)

I'm referring to the outside edge and not the gloss black insert cheers

Had a half day so thought I would do a little job that's been bugging me since I got the milltek. I chopped out the decat reducer and replaced it with a bit of 3" stainless pipe.

Now goes full 3" into the 2.75" milltek. Whereas before it was 3" - 2.5" - 2.75"

Ordered some bola b1 alloys to replace the tired looking standard cupra alloys. Went for the 8.5j all round as didn't want fitment issues. Need to get some better pictures but here's what it looks like.

Fitted some cobb led strips behind the front bumper grills today to use as drls. Come out pretty good for the £4 they cost. All wired into an ignition circuit with a switch to turn off if needed.

Fitted the relentless coilovers today so far from the drive home they are leagues ahead of standard shocks and the H&R springs. I've set the ride fairly firm and it's shown how soft the old shocks are in comparison. It actually feels quicker on acceleration as you don't loose any power delivery through the suspension squatting/lifting.

Just in the process of getting it all set up when I can get it booked in. Have left the front camber mounts as they came and dropped the ride height to a nice level to allow a drop once they've settled.

I've had the cheap coil overs before like FK and Prosport, but these are so much better even from the initial road test.

Your car is looking spot on on your new wheels and coilovers, I'll be interest to hear what you think after you've had the coilovers on after a few weeks.

Cheers guys, just got a few bits left to do. The top of the front suspension turrets need cutting off so you can adjust the front camber mounts. Easy enough to do with a dremel, had a chat with Sam Bryant about it.

Given it a good blast over the weekend and the wet grip has drastically increased, I found I can push it harder in the wet than I was on the old shocks in the dry.
