leon cupra. gearbox problem.

ive just lost 1st and 2nd gears. bit of a wierd one really.
i lost reverse first. then once id found it it seems ok now. my problem is 1st and 2nd. when trying to select these gears there is no click into gear and the lever feels slack.
3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are all ok.

any ideas? the linkage's dont look like they have moved or broke. and i put it into 1st by hand via the linkages on the gearbox, and it didnt engage when the clutch was lifted.

help!

for reference :

it was a spring clip/pin on the selector fork that controls 1st and 2nd gears.

was quoted £505 + vat from a gearbox specialist to be fixed.

hey dude just lost R 1st and 2nd!!!!

what is this spring clip??? is it the 2 cables that attach to the selector??? if so i have played about with them and still cant get the gears??? do you have a photo of this spring clip??

got problem fixed took it to star transmissions in medway was 1&2 selector fork. had box reconditioned and new clutch.....

I had this problem with 5th and 6th gear. It was my selector inside the box. The rivet just gave way. Cost me £450.
