General running around I see 28mpg to 30mpg from my 300sc manual
A regular 210 mile run that I do ( almost all motorway or dual carriageway ) - sitting around 70 - I see about 38mpg
Feels low compared to the 55+ mpg the 184TDi used to do but I can't complain considering the performance available.

In my Cupra 300 ST manual, I am seeing about 35mpg on average but my commute is not particularly spirited. I have had (manually calculated) 39mpg from a whole tank which included a 300 mile cross-country motorway cruise. It's actually quite amazing what a car with 300hp can do. I came from a DSG GTI (230 model) and the MPG is almost identical.

I made the move from diesel to petrol about 5 years ago. It's an initial shock on fuel costs, but it soon becomes the norm. Unless you are doing huge miles, the difference between 35mpg in a Cupra and 55mpg in a FR 184 is surely a hit worth taking. On a side note, I remember being really impressed when I got almost 40mpg from my Rover 416... (don't hate - it cost me £600).

My 290DSG gives me 35-40mpg on my commute, average 32mpg overall. Costs me £100 a month more in fuel than my FR184 did but that’s only like a coffee a day right, and what price saving the planet from all those nasty diesel particulates?
Don’t forget to factor in the extra cost of 97/99RON petrol.

SC Cupra 300 DSG - I see around 24-27mpg with daily driving (short commute). Today I have driven from Yorkshire to Scotland and achieved 36mpg. Most I've ever seen is 38mpg. Car has ran on 99RON since I collected it from the dealer.

I remember asking the salesman about MPG figures when I first test drove a 300 and his response was "you should probably look at a different model if you are interested in MPG".

2017 5dr DSG Cupra stage 1, kicking about the doors and my daily 10 mile commute, booting it whenever I can I'm averaging 24-30mpg! Did a run from Sunderland to Carlisle last week, sitting at 90-110mph most of the way there and back I hit 35mpg, which I couldnt believe, I was in a hurry and had no regard to my economy!

This week I again ran from Sunderland to Ambleside in eco mode and averaged 41mpg, on track to get 410 miles from this full tank! Drove from Ambleside to Keswick and back today and averaged 47mpg in eco mode, this kind of terrain really helps, think I rolled more than actually drove today! Lol

Cars hit 6k miles and the dash tells me I've averaged 29.7mpg since new!

Honestly I'm massively impressed with this car it just keeps on giving!

But one of the best parts though is the looks, you know you have a keeper when you turn back to look everytime you park up!

Welcome to the hills and twists of Cumbria. Some great roads here and plenty of Cupra’s in the area to enjoy them.

But one of the best parts though is the looks, you know you have a keeper when you turn back to look everytime you park up!

Can’t argue with you there.

The value of the MK3 will drop off massively compared to the MK1 and MK2 just because there is a lot more of them on the road, especially 290/300 models due to the lease deals. especially when they have all returned from lease, market will be flooded.

Interesting to see that the economy hasn't been affected (if anything it looks to have improved) when the car has been mapped. I'm definitely looking to get mine mapped over the next couple of months, or whenever funds will allow!

I am looking at Ex demo cars and you do get a good saving but even still it looks like the do drop a few k after a year or so, i think its mostly down to me being tight and not wanting to loose loads of money lol but my main concern is when the new shape comes out under the cuppa branding as I would be having it around 4 years.

The dealer quoted a minimum GFV of around 11K for a 25K car lol so its a big drop. that does not include interest costs though.

and the MPG is not that bad I get around 40 from mine so not too big of a drop at all.

Just got mine 2017 spec Cupra 300 DSG and already loving it. But just asking is there really benefit from Eco mode for the engine is you are trying to reach some-kind of fuel economy? If I understood correctly it just lows the revs?

When you coast (0% throttle) in ECO mode the DSG box disengages which allows lower revs 800-1000 rpm (low idle).

My 300ST around town high 20s low 30s. When I have to go to the office which is all motorway/dual track it can get near 40mpg.

The newer cupras with the GPF and 7speed dsg can cruise very well.

Did a 200 mile trip in my Leon 290 today, mainly motorway. Ave was 34mpg. I can get nearer 40mpg on a B road amble. Not the most economical if you use the power!!
