No Screws to get at that grommet. I removed the drivers side wiper arm and part of the rubber along the firewall and lifted the plastic enough to get my hand in, Just a note to any1 fitting a oil temperature sender in the blank above the oil filter I put mine in without a washer and thought I had screwed it tight but it had bottomed out and I had screwed it against itself and it sort of cracked and leaked a little oil around my engine. Maybe no one else is as stupid as me just thought I would share my experience with it. ;)

Also..... I am going to get a custom code remap soon

Definately getting a boost gauge, what other gauge will be good for keeping an eye on things after remap.... oil temp? ...... oil pressure?

im running a boost gauge and a air/fuel and just about to fit an oil pressure when i get a 3 gauge pod air/fuel is an important one i think

Can anyone recommend a matching set of Boost and Oil Temp gauges for a 2002 1.8T Cupra? (non R) that won’t break the bank!

i.e. Black Face, White Numbers, Red Needle and Red Illumination

Can anyone tell me where I'd get a sandwich plate for a 1.8T (180bhp) Cupra?

I'm going to fit boost and oil pressure gauges but I want an electrical pressure gauge rather than a mechanical.

Thanks DannyC87, watching that and will probably buy. Just wondering why if it's a universal application it wouldn't fit and you'd have to buy their bracket.

I've got the oil temp from halfords and it uses an electrical sender, i assume the oil pressure gauge would use the same principle.

I need some help. I entrusted my mechanic to wire the gauges up and the boost gauge is wrong. I've got the Halfrauds multi colour gauge and the only thing that is illuminated is the needle. Can anyone tell me how to wire this gauge up?

I've finally wired up my autogauges...however the oil temp in no way reflects what is actually going on. It rises far too quickly and goes off the scale after about a few minutes of idling. My diagnosis is faulty sender?

Also, My boost gauge doesn't read any vacuum. Why is this?

Cheers

Right I've ordered a new sender fingers crossed it will work. And this weekend I will move the gauge hose to T off the FPR and see if it makes any difference. Anyone have any suggestions in the meantime?

Right, got my guy to have another go at this and it still came back wrong. Although the boost gauge is working, the needle and face are constantly lit. And he now says that he reckons the oil pressure gauge isn't working properly.

So my question is how do I wire the boost gauge and oil pressure gauge together? They are both 7 colour LED items and I'm not worried about being able to dim the gauges with the dash lights.

I understand on the boost gauge that:

Black = Earth
Purple = Needle
Orange = Dial face/numbers
Yellow = Memory

So in this instance join the purple & orange wires together and attached to switched live, i.e. headlight switch.
Then yellow wire to a constant 12V feed.

Now on my oil pressure I'm a bit confused. I've got 3 connectors and 3 wires. On the connectors I've got an 'S', a '+' and a '-'. Then I've got a black, red and yellow wire.

I'm fairly confident in saying the 'S' goes to the sender. I'm assuming the yellow is the Memory so would need a constant 12V feed. So does the red wire go to a switched live?
I'm assuming the black wire is Earth again. So what do I connect the '+' & '-' connectors to?

I'm so confused!!! :cry: Have a look at the attached pic of the back of the oil pressure gauge if it helps with my explaination. (Although it looks orange, it's a red wire)
