Well, this is for other forum users and not my own benefit.the purpose of a forum is to let people with similar cars and tastes and ideas no where they can get good and bad deals. Well iv had my fingers burnt. I hav saved and got my car mapped,it has never been right since,i hav spent money changin the usual suspects, maf, plugs, all coilpacks. Non of this cured my problems,so i took it back, changed my map to not be as lumpy at bottom end.said didn't hav time2change anythin else.i rang today 2 weeks later

I'm struggling to understand that mate... what happened when you took your car back? Why are your fingers burnt?

If you don't mind me asking, who are BAS? (Taken from your sig)

Have they been helpful in trying to understand your issues? Did they rolling road your car to check it was fully working before you took it off their site? How much did it cost?

It may not be just the map thats at fault as the map will only accentuate any other underlying issues once you are pushing the cars components harder.

Best of luck with getting it sorted.

That would explain it then, didn't think your normal posts were like that!

coxw - BAS = Bell Auto Services. They have (had...) a good reputation on this forum, so I would hope that they would do something to get this sorted for you!

Well that's a month ago, tops?! And if you have already been back there to raise your concern and he attempted to fix it, he has accepted the fact that there is a problem. So if his 'fix' hasn't actually 'fixed' the problem, then you have every right to go back there and ask for a refund.

And the fact that your car has been off the road for part of that time should be taken into consideration. You would have thought that being in such a competitive market, word of mouth and reputation would be important on a forum such as this!

Does BAS have anything to say on the forum regarding this issue?

We await a reply.

Word of mouth is a powerful tool on forums such as these. However i did get the feeling that they had a good reputation.

Never had a problem with Pete myself, in fact, he has been more than helpful - and the positive feedback in the Bell Auto's thread confirms this is a widespread feeling.

Are you sure your telling us the whole story ? Not meaning to sound rude, but it sounds out of character !!

I would suggest that any conversation of that nature takes place off the forum - nothing gets sorted out when things are done this way. You never get to hear both sides of the story - note that i'm in no way taking sides here.

Independant point of view;

1. you want a remap otherwise you'd not have paid for one.
2. It's not working so you want it fixed.
3. if you get a remap from somewhere else, you may hit the same problem if the problem is with the car.
4. Surely you're better off working with Bell Autos to cure whatever is wrong.

However if you want a refund and As long as you're within the 28 day period, basic trading standards rules would apply ... i'd have thought.

Just to add to this post some pointers, but i think this post is not for forum reading, althow i dont mind what people write about me.

Dodsons car was originaly tuned
10th jan 2007 at 11.29Am i still have the vagcom logs here.

The car came in for tuning and we road tested , all was find on both parts customer left happy .

I then got a call later on saying that there seems to be a problem, so we aranged to have the car back asap for testing to sort the problem,
And but first he was going to update the servicing on the car since it had not been done for a while.

Then car did not turn up because he had crashed it, which im very sorry that it happend and could not be helped what so ever.

I then aranged to have the car back as soon as it came back out of the bodyshop to sort it out.
Again it did not turn up untill about 1-2 weeks after.

I had the car back made some adjustments and road tests untill all was fine with the tuning and running of the car.

I then sent dodson ON HIS OWN to road test the car to make sure 100% that he was happy, which he said he was.

I then get a call two weeks later/today stating that the same problem has happend again ON THE WAY HOME and could he have the map removed.

If it happen on the way home why was i not contacted by email phone of PM on the forum ??

Regards pete
