Hi guys how are you all, my first post for some time so pleased to say the Leon has been good for a while.
Just a niggly rear door that locks when it feels like it

But to the point of my post, has anyone tried these?

http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/380-Ultimate-Canbus-92-SMD-LED-Bulb.html

They look rather long so I wonder if they will fit?

Anyone given any other LED lights a try? Cree ones for example.

I have been using some side light LEDs almost since I had the car.

Cheers and take care

They should fit mate, don't think they need to be CANBUS ones as don't think the MK 1's have a bulb out feature. Don't quote me on that though!

I used Cree ones, but they did not function properly. Have tried multiple ones, but all failed (also failed on Leon from my mate) :( I have tried SMD ones (like the one in the link), but they were quite dim imho. I later found Powerflux LEDs which, I think, are awesome. Bit brighter than SMD leds and they react so much faster than halogen bulbs (all leds do :) ).

I would recommend these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230845629895

Normally they look orange and the difference between tail light and brake light isn't enough. (Safety hazard IMO)

The CRE ones may e better.

The link to the Powerflux led ones are red leds, if you do buy leds, please buy red ones. Red leds contain more "red" light than white leds do.

I agree, when there is a small difference between high/low signal or the output is dim, its a safety hazard

Sorry for spamming in your thread but can someone recommend good strong LED bulbs for rear lights?

I need indicators, reverse and stop due to getting my rear lights tinted in red and need strong bulbs.

Cheers.

I bought those for brake:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290940956315?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
and returning them as not happy. It only lights up in sort of "circle", not the whole sector. They are indeed good for foglights or reverse, so gonna get ones like that for reverse and what should I get for brake?

Want something like that but slightly stronger:

Ill buy either the ones in first post, or those: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400531272348?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Ideas?

Right frustrated with this now

Decided I'd fit the LED stop and tails as they do look good in the dark.
Then noticed that when pressing my brake pedal both the rear stop lights come on and the front LED side lights! (changed them some time ago) so I have brake lights front and rear [:@]

LOL

Anyway, old bulbs back in the rear now but noticed that another number plate bulb has gone so these are up for LED upgrade next.

Recommendations?

Also how the heck to you get that clear plastic lens off without braking it?

Not sure what to do about stop/tail lights now :(

You have to take the tail lights completely off first. Also, what bulbs causes that trouble? I bought Cree's but giving them away and want to get some LEDs but seems like there are more trouble with them than anything?

Assuming you're talking about the numberplate lights, use a small flat bladed screwdriver, there is a gap on side of the plastic lense covers. Insert screwdriver and GENTLY lever/prise it out. They should come out quite easily, just don't rush it. :)
