Yeah it was probably roasting but what difference does it make really:shrug: there designed to work in those conditions and if there not they have no business in an engine bay.

i dont believe the spring is being effected by heat... its a formed spring and engine temps are no where near what they would be tempered at...
BUT
I do think springs once compressed will relax after initial use and settle.. which is the more likely cause for change to me

that video you posted above is exactly what I was describing to you... Great vid.. comfirms what happens when the nozzles too outboard of the hole its sat in.. The spray cone which is usually less than 90 degrees (and varies with manufacturer I might add) could catch the hole on the way out if not flush with the pipe ID, cause drop out.

I seen those Rob, i wanted something that matched the shape of the existing TB so it didn't look out of place(im shallow, lol) and i can get mine made for less than that locally.

Still good to know.Thanks.

P.S Just looking at that spacer again and that rubber seal won't last 5minutes of methanol gets near it!

Bill i modified the plate again so after 5mm of thread depth it is then tapered off at a 45c angle [B)]

1/8" npt taper threads anyhow, so depending on how it was tapped will depend on how deep it ends up

someone going to be able to do a 45 degree chamfer on an internal bore face?

Bill the guy can build practically anything you want, he can only be described as a seriously talented, he has a build thread over on Club GTI where he is rebuilding an engine, but most of the parts for the engine he has fabricated himself.

If you have an hour spare, this is well work a read

WMI nozzle mount

Evening all,

No updates for a week, i was away:( I arrived back today to see my WMI nozzle mount had arrived.Brian.G as expected did a cracking job on this spacer, it just needs to be polished up.

I really don't know why i didn't do this before, the new mounting location should eliminate Water/meth ingress to the throttle body, in addition to this 100% better atomisation is achieved( videos below)
The atomisation achieved from the Devils own mount is absolutely crap, if i had have see this before i would have not installed it into a silicon pipe.

Here are some picture and at the end 2 videos of the better atomisation achieved with the new mounting spacer Vs the crap atomisation achieved with the Devils own mount, shocking TBO.

I was shocked at how bad the silicone hose adapter performed too, just lets water/meth pour into the hose ... really bad!

So true, i never seen it in action untill i did the test, its a very poor solution.
