LCR - surge on acceleration

warren_cox

Back from the dead
In the last week I have had a new MAF fitted by the dealer as I was getting the orange TCS light on the dash.

They have changed it, but when the car is cold if I accelerate too much the TCS light is still coming on and staying on. When I recycle the ignition ot goes off.

I have tried to work out what is causing it, and if I accelerate to highish revs and the car has only been running for about 10 minutes the light will come on. After 10 minutes I can't get it to happen.

However one symptom I am getting is this. If I accelerate hard, once the turbo kicks in at around 3000rpm I get a surge of boost (with a spike of upto 26psi), before the car settles back into 'normal' acceleration.

Its making the car quite unpredictable to drive. Any ideas before I sling it back to the dealers? Boost control valve?

Hi,

I get the same sort of thing I thing. When I put my foot down and quickly decide that was a bad idea, take my foot off the accelerator and aim for the breaks it holds the acceleration at the level it was left at for a second or two. I presume it may of lost a bit of traction at the time. This can be a little scary considering the object you want to break for you are actually accelerating toward! Is this similar to what you are experiencing? I have no stagnant warning lights mind.

Cheers
Olly
