I replaced front tyres the other day. GSD3's £113 each fitted. I phone national tyres and exhaust just to see how much. they wanted £200 a tyre!!! what do they think we are? idiots?

Prices are fitted...with VAT etc. Had to get the brakes done at SEAT as they told me they were down to 'dangerous' at the 20k service. I don't take any risks when it comes to brakes and tyres.

The dealers really do try it on. They told me mine were shot at 10k. I took the wheel of and checked, loads of pad left. They said it again at 20k. I eventually changed them at 22k and there was still enough pad fo another 1000 miles.

Roughly between 4 - 7k rpm!
Covered 8k miles in my LCR so far: Here is a list of the expenditure excluding tax, fuel and insurance of course:

10k Service - £116 (Seat - Galgate)
2 New Front Tyres - £160 (Ebay)
New Front Brembo Pads - £80 (Fitted myself)

Not so bad i don't believe. Just changed pads and tyres recently. Bought car with 4k miles on so had new tyres then before collection otherwise i think i would of replaced alot earlier.

Next on the list will prob be the 20k service in 8k miles.

New Front Brembo Pads - £175
2 New Front Tyres - £260

I don't drive like a nutter either. Is it worth it? You Bet!!!
i think it depends on how you drive.
i must say youve got a very nice car.
personally in the list of those bits you mentioned the bill could be reduced if you shop around especially for the tyres and brake pads

I would have to agree with that statement. A bit of shopping around can save you alot in the long run.

£260 for 2 tyres seems abit on the high side. Perhaps try www.mytyres.co.uk next time. Should save some hard earned dosh.

What a sobering thread:

Just worked out on the back of a fag packet that I bought the car in April 2005 (so its only 9 months old now).

Servicing / insurance / plate transfer / petrol costs / tyres: £2765

Mods to date: £4704

Total cost of running: £7469

Thats £25k nearly including the purchase cost. New R32 money.

Still no budget in there for ARB, DP, Coilovers etc....
