True, I'd think about bending the tubing to a very flat oval but wide enough not to reduce the flow then make it open up into the void. Probably get it done in the next few weeks so i'll let you guys know.

Or I could do what the yanks call a balony(sp??) cut, where you chop the tube at an angle to get a much larger hole, we'll see!

Bang In The Middle.
Balf2k. De-chrome does look good.
Better than the Red photoshop badge.

I rekon it will really stand out & look meanacing if you get a 3/4 lenth or smaller front plate!

just a thought.

I would really like a smaller front plate, what's the legality of them, are they completely illegal?

By the way, I am planning on getting my wheels refurbed in a dark colour / anthracite or something, just gotta find a good but not overly priced place in the south east Kent area.

Back to the badge, what about yellow on a red car?

Number plate, well over done on Lotus sites, acording to those you can get away with it completly, I ran for a year without a front one, however i did get pulled when I put one back on due to spacing (personalised plate) and fined £30.

They did not mention size (standard font just cut down at the edeges).

I have put it down to the Elise being small suble plinths; either not being there (if removed from S1) or very small (s2) so they get away with it.

Anything too small on a Leon, might be a little obvious, you might get away with a slightly smaller font, but would personaly just cut the edges down.

My mates taken out his badge on his beezer, he then put some mesh in there as it looked like the car had been in a crash and was missing parts. Opted for a black one in the end and it looks far better but on a black car its too much IMHO. Ive tried some "light tint spray" from hell-frauds, subtle but looks the muts nuts, only problem is i broke a bit off of one of the points on the "s" and lost it so i need to get a new one!

d20vt, did you but an after market one and chop and smooth in the new bars to a stock LCR one? If so how well did you manage to match the graphite colour?

I've also got no S badge in the front, but that's after a theiving shite knicked it from QA Hospital in portsmouth. Where I'm seconded and hate it. I'd rather chew my arm off than work for the nhs.

I'm planning on getting mine replaced as I think in black it doesn't suit the yellow, however i have had people say "cool" etc

No i used my original LCR grille, chopped it en sticked some bars from the side grille in it.
Then i sanded it in shape and primed it.
The colour i used is a standard code of the Glasurit CPSM 2 paint box.
I don't know exactly what code i used, but the one that came closest to the rest of the LCR grafite parts

Update,

Just finished the second coat of black on my S badge and surround. Its looking really good and I cant wait to fit it. Only choice is whether or not I should laquer it up or not? Steve, I know you didn't and quite like the maty look, has any one laquered there's?

Cheers for the inspiration Balf, I highly recommend the mod it is easy to do (used a dremel to sand it down) and will look great!!
