Have had two injector failures within the last month or so on the tolly.

First time round thought it might just be a faulty injector, and it was replaced under warranty. 4K latter same problem same injector :wtf:

Pretty much looks like some sort of electric problem, probably with one of the harnesses. :(
Hate these types of problems. Will keep everyone informed when and if the fault is found.

Paulo no fault codes to do with the wiring. Saw a PD with intermitant injector failure a while back and it was the harness, most likely causing a fault code due to oil getting throught the wiring somehow.

Running on 3 cylinders most of the time...

Will start or I should say usually starts with a slight misfire under constant (but not hard aceleration).
Will start by checking the wiring (injector loom) within the head, then start working backwards from there.

Yep, normal injector fault codes:
misfire & ABS/ESP faults (abs & esp I guess due to the vibration??)
Stupid harness costs a buddle.. :(

On the happy side:
Will try getting the new cam in @ the same time..

Long shot - but is the alternator charging at the right voltage (IE regulator still working) ?

I was getting an ABS/ESP fault a while back when one of the sense wires from the alternator had broken. Warning light came on 10 minutes after each startup. Maybe if the regulator's gone and it's overcharging, could be damaging the injectors ? I know it's unlikely but you never know.

300K km's???? :-o :-o :-o :-o
I really didn't think a tdi could get there,,, good to know.

Sorry for the problem paulo,,, I know wiring checking is always a PITA but hope you get that sorted soon. You might be lucky and find soon the faulty wire. I hope so.

Paulo the one i saw had a damaged wire connecting to the injector and wasn't visible. I would try that as first should be a 1hr job. About 120 euro part.

apart fom the problems, what condition is the engine after those miles tuned? And has oil consumption risen?
In kilometers ive reached over 180k and tuned from new, no increase in oil consumption yet and injectors still fine, even though i sometimes have intermittent power loss thats cured by releasing the pedal and pressing again.

Everythings remained the same, one of the reasons i'll looking to keep it for a bit longer. Remember that I do mostly highway so wear isn't as much.

At present I am going through about 20ml between changes @ 10000km.
The injector cabling (all 300 euros of it ) is being changed presently, but looking at the old cable it really doesn't seem like the cause of the problem. Might try swaping ECU's as well (could be a doggy capacitor, transistor or something similar).

Up and running for a week now and everything seems OK. Changed the cabling, ECU, injector, cam, tyres, shot wheel bearings (not related), and
some bushes that where on there way out.
Everything seems to be back to normal and my wallet completely empty.

Running quasi-stock mapping for now..

I'd bet it's ok, with all that stuff swapped,,,
would you mind if I ask how much was the ecu?
and did you use the stock cams or some tuning ones?
