Button for drivers assistance system faulty.

Hello all, over the past few days I’ve had a fault appearing on the dash on and off. It seems to mainly happen when using the left indicator stalk to indicate etc. The fault reads as above. ‘Button for drivers assistance system faulty’. Has anyone had a the same fault appear and had it rectified and tell me what was needed to fix it.

The car is booked into main dealer under warranty, which I’m hoping they cover it. However I’m worried that because my car is modified, they will use this against me. I’ve never had problems claiming on warranty cases with modifications in the past, but as the car has recently had a new aftermarket FMIC, I’m worried they may relate it to that.

See attached image of errors on carista. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Stalks are defective, no reason why they shouldn't replace it as long as you haven't modified the stalks or steering wheel (if they want to be arses)
Lovely thank you for your help, the only way the interior has been modified is my steering wheel has been re trimmed. However the stalks themselves obviously haven’t been touched.

In the event they do reject the warranty claim, I’ve spoke to TPS and they’re about £130 inc vat for the stalks. Do they require any sort of coding etc to be fitted?

Hi Joshua,
do you have any news about this issue? I started to get this error since yesterday.

Many thanks for update.

The wires in the indicator lever often break. But the slip ring is also often defective

Cairus, you were right. Two wires are heading to the button and only one is moving together with lever so it's clear there is no contact. Unfortunately I had no balls to try to open plastic lever body to avoid any imprints or damage. Did someone tried to open it with proper procedure? Thanks in advance!
