Konicking noise- V5

Yesterday, i had been on a long quite hard drive.
When i came back home i noticed the car was knocking somewhere in the engine bay at the top right corner as you look. I thought it may have been something to do with the intake system banging on the engine so i pushed it about a bit.
I then decided to unplug the MAF and the knocking noise went. I have now plugged the MAF back in and no more problem???

It was definitely a knocking on the top right corner- no loss in performance or MPG or anything so i dont think it is internal.

Possibly the bottom engine mount? As i can see that down the back. But odd it would do it then stop as i unplugged the MAF, and now not do it at all????

Wiiiieeeerrrrrrdddddd

Any ideas welcome

*Update*
Went to Ace Cafe last night and when i got back it was doing it ever so faintly. The bottom engine mount seems likely to me i think as the engine moves quite a bit when you change gear etc.

Is there anything else on that right hand side I.E a moving part. There isnt anything i can physically see?

Sell if the knocking increases as you rev the engine then it could be the mount, if it doesnt increase as you rev the engine it most likely wouldnt be the mount.

I'd have thought a knock from a failed engine mount would be felt as well as heard, its a fair old lump after all. There is a lot of stuff on the right hand side of the engine bay, it could be the MAF sensor itself, or perhaps the air filter housing? Both could knock against the wheel arch if they're not sitting right. But both are made of plastic, and the knock would be more 'tinny' than an engine 'thump'.

I'm assuming it still does it when you're stationary? That eliminates everything after the engine, such as driveshafts, wheels, suspension, etc.

What is the frequency of the knocking? Is it only once in a while, or could it be one per engine revolution, or somewhere in between?

Replaced the tensioner less than a month ago so not that, plus the noise is on the other side. Cheers anyway.

I have looked closely, i think it is either the engine mount, or the exhaust knocking at the manifold join.

The frequency of the knocking isnt in time with the engine itself, but is in time with its movements. The engine is very jerky now when let off the throttle and when pulling away in 1st

Going to book it in tomorrow for some time next week so they can check over it
