Koni FSD's and standard springs

Hi All,
I am just about to order a set of FSD's and intend fitting them with the standard springs as I do not want to loose any ground clearance. my question is, has any one any experience of the FSD's with standard springs ? is the ride improved much ?

Id like to know what would happen when you use fsd's and oe springs aswell. Surely just improved comfort and handeling? Im putting 19s on when i get it and have the aero kit aswell so dont want to go to low as to rip bumpers off on speed bumps.

I had the FSD's fitted with the Eibach Springs.

I've had for these for sometime now and have never had any issues with speed bumps even with passengers in the car.

The link is attached where you can see some pictues, I would say that it is about 15mm lower than standard.

I feel the ride is better than before (less bouncy) and the handling is excellent, its got to the stage where I want to drive a standard FR again to compare - after time you forget what it was orginally like.

Well I fitted the FSD's this afternoon and whilst i have only given it a quick thrash around the block the difference is very noticeable. No more crashing from bump to bump (I even found myself looking for potholes to prove it was better)
I have retained the OE springs and the ride is greatly improved even on the 18's. If only Seat fitted these as standard . well pleased.

Excellent news!

As soon as I can afford it I'll be doing the same thing I think, if you get a chance please put some further thoughts once you have driven some more miles.

Thanks

Edd, just been out for a blag with the wife as judge and even she commented on the noticeable change in ride comfort.
If you want to see for yourself, as you are not far from me, let me know and you can experience it for yourself.
I think the sport pack on the Stylance is the same set up as the FR so it would be good to try them back to back asit were to make difinitive comparisons.

Any one want to buy a set of FR standard dampers (55 mm fronts), only 1 month old and 20000 miles ?

Damm too many zero's now up to 2500 miles.
Edd, just PM me or drop me an email to [email protected] when you want to try the Koni's, it would be good to compare rides back to back as it were.

Makes heck of a difference doesn't it - best thing I did too. Can't recall the old suspension setup now but I thought it was a lot better than standard.

Whats the handling like on the new shocks with OE springs? I am seriously consdering these are I am get quite fed up of the ride quality (I can feel my pea sized brain rattling around in my head sometimes, I'm sure it may cause some long tern effects like makign me speeel things wronlgly and my gramar worser)

the handling was fine it was the ride comfort that finally wore me down, it was ok on motorways etc but in town over bumps it was annoying. Now its far better. The FSD's & eibach pro kit plus fitting and 4wheel alignment came to £750.

I am happy too with just the Koni's. Only issue is why didn't I choose silver ! your cars look great guys, mine looks stunning in black after a few hours cleaning but it don't last long (the wife insisted on black)
Handling seems similar but with a little more body roll on long fast corners, otherwise still as good and I think improved traction on rough surfaces and rapid direction changes (throwing it into a corner hard)

for me i think it may have saved me selling the car, i didn't like a few things but has restored my faith in the car, wish i had got the tfsi still.but once the speakers are done the car should be as i want it.
