new exhaust as been on a few weeks now and its settled in nicely, although it has move backwards so it pokes out more than my milltek did.

i have been told by everyone it looks better this way but i think due to the way the rear bumper slopes it looks odd.

basically, the milltek used to sit flush with the cut out, my new exhaust pokes out a good few inches :/

will get some pics up soon of it.

it needs realigning as it sits too far to the left now. it was 100% accurate (they even measured it! when it was fitted.) but im still not convinced on the tailpipe poke...

views?

it looks so different lol hard to get used to as the milltek was 100% flush.

Oh, the tailpipe looks better when clean too, when im back from wales i will clean her and stick some more pics up.

I just bought myself a new digi camera too so will use the Leon as my first subject!

update:

pants update really but the circuit board in my remote key has decided to crack so i currently cant lock my car remotely, have to use the key in the lock.

not bad you say? well unlocking it with the key doesnt disarm the alarm! so i have to piss about with the broken key internals to unlock the car.

currently have my working keyblade and transponder on a spare key i bought from ebay so technically carrying two half keys around!

Have purchased Vagtacho + a spare key so i can code that to the car and then manually code the spare keys remote function to it as i only have one key.

other than that the car needs a little love, still getting creaking from the front suspension over humps, assuming it needs greasing (the adjusters are stuck solid so go figure)

Long term plans for the Leon are on hold at the moment as still saving quite hard for a mortgage, i keep finding little bits i would LOVE but not having the money.

i really want a catch can installed and to remove the SAI and blank it off etc but i dont have the knowledge to do it safely! haha

update:

Clutch booked for the 26th, im going to just go with the OEM clutch i think, as they are rated quite well and im not a traffic light racer. all in i think its costing me £550 fitted due to helping a mate fit it :)

i have a small list to sort on the car atm, just waiting for a nice day/no rain.

-Fit Mist washers (i have made some plastic "mounts" so i dont have to bond the jets to the car, they will be removeable)
-Debadge the rear as the badges are old and rubbish
-Finish my home made LED numberplate lights (Sick of blowing bulbs!)
-Repaint front and rear "S" badges in red to match wheels as their currently candy apple red and out of place

Im now also thinking about a FMIC after i said i wouldnt do it! thinking about a Toyo medium one at around £65 and then custom the pipework so i can keep the fogs.. but im not really that way minded although i could do it.

Im having the car compression tested when i have the clutch done as its free and will give me a look at the engines health... then its only the turbo that could be duff :)

any input views is always welcomed :)

Tom - sorry I missed your reply mate. I was wondering how long the 2" section is on the decat, I guess with a 2.5" system you'd ideally get a long sleeve to fit from the 2.5" decat to the existing 2.5" catback. And cut the 2" section off.

What's up with the car? Down on performance?

ahh well it was a little sleeve about 2 inches long, got it from ebay.

when i had the custom system put on, they made it with 2" diameter piping which REALLY annoyed me when i checked the next day, but frankly i havent noticed any difference in the .5" of diameter. i may well speak to them again one day and see if they will remake it as it comes with a lifetime warranty.

Not sure if 2.5" is "needed" perse?

Nothing wrong with the car apart from the clutch is on its way out. but seeings as the car is in the garage and the mechanic is a friend i thought i would compression test it anyway to see if its healthy. i had always said if the car is healthy i would stage 2, but wouldnt do it at the risk of killing it.

Ahh yep, know the sleeve you mean. :)

2.5" might be of more benefit if you go stage 2 - how many miles are on the car? Oh its great fun changing the clutch btw, did you get a new slave cylinder with it?

thats what i am thinking... just rang them and they might well be remaking the exhaust for me.. but i am NOT spending 9hours down there like last time :/

i have 115k on the clock so its quite old bless it.

Yeah the 3 peice LUK from eurocarparts comes with a central slave cylinder :)

new clutch fitted yesterday, and all i can say is WOW what a difference!

the stock LUK was 115k old, and it was gone. this is the clutch plate:

photo-3.jpg

hardly anything left :cartman:

the flywheel had burn marks in it and it was sloping quite badly so would have had to be skimmed to refit. Look at it!

The slave was gone too, so now the pedal is SO light and the gearchange is much better. drained and filled the gearbox whilst i was at it, so all in all a good day!

got a dual pod Nomad pillar fitted today, its got matching boost and oil temp but i need to get the oil temp fitted.

happy isnt the word!

Yeah it's really odd. The pedal has been so heavy since I got the car so it's wicked being like it is now.

Next up for the Leon is new suspension, the fronts are seized and jamex are ****!

going to sell my Toyo FMIC as ive decided not to push any more power on the car... changed my mind again
