keyfobs coded?

will my 52 plate ibiza battery in my key fob be coded as i need a new battery in my keyfob and i know some cars have codes and you can loose everything if not done correctly so i just could do wiht knowing cheers

think it should be fine mate, long as you dont damage the transponder, people have been making flip keys which use diffrent batterys so shouldnt be a problem.

probably a contact fault in the key. If your spare has remote buttons, try them then u know if its the car or the key. If its key take trip to dealers

ok, so you have changed the battery yeah?

i belive there is a way of doing it in the manuel

but to add a new key you put spair in the ignition and turn on

use the other to manually lock the drivers door.

press unlock on the key you are coding then wait for 5 or 6 seconds and press unlock again.

car will chirp at you too

he doesnt need it coded I dont think. Think he means original fault is there even after changing battery

ah right mebies, a thought he just meant it was playing up like not opening at distances lol, if it has gone there is a sequence to recode key to car

yeh but the thing is their aint any life in the remote key fob the little red dot that flashes when you press the buttons dosnt flash at all and i have changed the battery so i dont know whats up with it...

o yer mate wasnt saying that, its not a competition u know :p lol was just saying if the key isnt even showing a light then its probably broke

yeh the blipper isnt blipping anymore lol:) and was starting to go off a few weeks back but took no notice i have a dealer warrenty but this wont be covered in it i guess but going to ring up in morning and see what they have to say about the matter:)
