Hey all been looking through all the threads about programming your new flip key to the car.

I bought a 433Mhz VW key off of Ebay code HLO 1JO 959

My original remote 2button key was 433MHZ 5FA 007 680 think these are the numbers that refer to the part code etc!!

Now i cant get the new key to program to the car which is p*ssing me off to say the least!! :censored:

These are the one's i've tried!!!

1. Key in ignition and turn on so dash lights turn on
leave it in there for a couple of sec's then remove it
hold the lock button down and whilst holding that press unlock 3 times
release both buttons and the remote light should flash 5 times but it should also lock and unlock doors, programming the remote to the car

2. igintion on
lock the door using a second key
using remote control press the unlock button once and the horn will sound once
wait 6 secs and press unlock button once to activate the coding procedure
switch off
remove key and check for operation

3. put original key in ignition
then lock door with new key and remove key
then press unlock and horn will sound wait 6 secs and press unlock again

4. ignition on
turn off imediately and pull out key
hold 1 of the buttons down (doesnt matter which one)
press the other 3 times with a slight pause 1. 2. 3
watch led on key (should flash) and doors usually lock and unlock
turn ignition key back on to red lights and wait 5 secs
key out again and test

There is a few more but im bored of typing..

they were by funkyfin2000,

Please please help or im going to shove this remote back up the ebay's arse!!:ban:

yeah have tried that one to no luck im afraid!! did you have any luck arno??

Nope - absolutely zip. It's driving me to distraction too!

I'm in exactly the same boat as you... the only difference being that I bought a 434Mhz flip key, even though my original key says 433Mhz. After reading the threads on here, several people said that this shouldn't make a difference as they all transmit at the same frequency, it's just that some keys have the number rounded up whilst some have it rounded down.

I've tried every method I can think find numerous times but none of them have any effect whatsoever.

After telling Fl@pper my tales of woe, he suggested trying to pair them using VAG-com - but I'm having problems with that too... http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?p=1238127#post1238127

It was a right mission taking the flip key apart and reassembling it again too... i don't want this to have been a complete waste of time and money!

Stretch, i dont really know a great deal about the standard keys but if its similar to the flip ones then there seems to be 2 brands siemens and hella. seimens work on the mk2/3 ibiza and alhambra. the hella ones are the ones you need but there are also certain ones that dont work (ones before a certain date, part no. ending in 'N'.)

Arno, what part no. is the flip key?

you need either

HLO 1JO 959 753 A is 433mhz 2 button (older)
HLO 1JO 959 753 AG is 434mhz 2 button

or you could get a 3 button but the boot button will not do anything on a leon so i am told

HLO 1JO 959 753 AH is 434mhz 3 button

there is also the new leon flip key which i also believe works.

ok cheers al will see what i can come up with.

as far as i know i have a mate who works for seat and he says you need to take your car to a dealer to get a 12 digit code which they phone seat uk with and they in return give you a 4 digit code ( i think thats righ??) and then you can program any key with your car!!

Isnt putting all these methods up, a way of telling car thieves had to pinch your car??

Just buy a 2nd hand key, then programme it to car using these methods?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?

Not really - cos you need a fully functioning key to start with in order for this to work.... and if the car thief already has a fully functioning key for your car I doubt they'll be bothered about programming a spare!

This is how i did mine, similar to your step 2, but mildly different.

Use original key to turn ignition on (i was replacing a broken remote so used the original flip portion for this)

Using a second key, lock the door

HOLD DOWN lock button on new remote until horn sounds

Wait 6 seconds, then press again. My alarm went off at this point.

Open door (might have to use the second key, rather than remote)

Turn of ignition, close door and try new remote. Should work fine, mine did.

Might be best to do it with your window open too, cos i found that the remote didn't work until i'd removed the key from the ignition.

If this doesn't work, try replacing the lock button presse with unlock, i can't remember which one i had to press now!
