Refitting the lock. What does this involve exactly, is it a tricky procedure?

Well if you took the lock out in the first place, it is exactly the same procedure, but in reverse.
If you didn't remove it yourself, then you need to this guide but in reverse order:

Well, I just want a new key for replacement purposes! Why is it necessary to remove the lock?

EDIT: I think I've been an idiot here (hung over )

I've still got the lock in the car. All I need to do is cut the key and follow the coding procedure right

Yes mate, if you lock is still in the drivers door, all you have to do is follow the procedure on page 1.
If the lock is missing, then it would need to be put back in.
Locks are removed for extra security, but it wouldn't be clever to point out why on an open forum, so if you want to know more then PM me.

How easy is the little metal disc to remove when reversing the procedure?. I've read this can be tricky to remove?

ohh, little disc eh, I never bothered fitting one, glad I didn't now lol

Not sure mate, but i would expect it to be a bit tricky. Maybe get something like a punch in the edge and force it our, but it's likely to fall down the inside of the door.

Any tips on getting the transponder from the spare key ? It's glued in very well........

Dum de dum - still hacking away with a stanley blade......

Finally got it out !!

Ended up heating the blade on the hob & melting a load of the plastic away, then using nail varnish remover to "melt" the glue and eventually pop it out

you know u have to use two keys to do it all, would i put my key with no buttons or anythin in the ignition and lock it with the one im coding and code it while its not in anything or lock it with the key i want to code in the ignition n code it while its in there?
