K03s Model no. help

just been offered a very cheap K03s turbo - too cheap to miss really, but i thought that K03's were defined by the number "52 ci" on the turbo. But this one has "53 ch" on it? Its from a 180bhp golf and its unsilenced, but he did say its for a pre 2001 car? does this make any sense to anyone? it has no wastegate actuator but he said you can use the actuator from a K03?? someone help quick, i cant afford to miss this deal!

Not sure on the part numbers. You could always count the fins if there is 8 it,s a ko3s and if it has 12 it,s a ko3

I do know my mate has a 2000x golf gti which is 150bhp. The turbo blew and when he took it off discovered it was a k03s and after a bit of research discovered this was fitted to some 2000/01 models.

The AUM engine codes were K03s but were on 150bhp cars.

According to Borge Warner the K03-052, K03-053 and K03-058 are the same turbo with the exception that the K03-053, doesn't have the Silencer on the tip, found out it came off an AWW engine, it has 8 fins - does this sound true?

8 fins is the right one, the KO3 has 12 fins.

Not sure about the engine code to turbo, as that info is on my home laptop.
