I have all the luck in the world...
After my recent problems of the car not meeting the requested boost since it's remap, I took the car and a new Forge actuator to the garage on Friday and had to walk 2 miles to work. I left it there all day and had to walk back again to collect it, only to find out it couldn't be fitted as the actuator rod is too thick - luckily I wasn't charged. I call to find out whether I was sent the wrong one even though it's all packaged up as an Ibiza K03 actuator but everyone's at Autosport and I can't find out until Monday
Then yesterday, on the way back home from a road trip, I was pootling along joining the duel carriageway, I put the car into 5th and then suddenly lots of misfiring, engine light flashing and a shaky car, oh yes, I've had this before...must be a coilpack. I had my heavily pregnant girlfriend in the car in discomfort wanting to get home so I had no choice but to limp home 18 miles sounding like a very load and unhealthy Scooby. I hasten to add, why does this happen just as all parts departments are closed for the day and the next day!?!? This is my 3rd coilpack to go since i've owned the car and was hopeful for some reliability after last time, all my coilpacks were 'updated' to the improved revision. If I've done any damage by having to limp home then THANKS A LOT SEAT.
To top it off, I still have a hole in my grill after travelling 190 miles each way to get my so-far uncessful remap done and hitting a pheasant.
Now, regarding the coilpack... I guess it must be this, I can't imagine a dodgy spark plug would behave like that. I don't have access to VAG-COM right now so shall I remove each coil pack one by one and see which one makes no difference? I imagine 2 cyclinders would sound even worse, if it starts. Is a coilpack a dealer only part or to others like Partco stock it? My dealer is 10 miles away.
I had decided to keep the car even with the baby coming but maybe I shouldn't have
