just had the Forge TIP fitted to my Cupra FR, WOW!

more aggressive acceleration, quicker response, smoother power delivery and way more midrange power, and it has a harder edge on the exhaust and engine tone, sounds great.

definately got to be one of the best cheap performance mods, highly recommended.

only one thing though, the connecting pipe to the DV is higher up on the intake tube which means you cant get your engine cover back on, i feel a modification coming on.

I noticed no difference at all when I fitted mine - the hoses were more of a peace-of-mind modification than anything else.

i can't see how a pipe can make all that difference, but its on my to do list somewhere anyway.....
I hear fitting is a bit tricky?

The only thing that was a bit awkward was fitting to the turbo and making sure that it's on properly - ended up using the camera phone to check as you can't see it otherwise.

As has been said, they're not a perfect match for the OE parts so you need to check that nothing is rubbing on anything else when you've finished reconnecting everything.

I'll try and make an effort to get mine on and I'll do some before and after Vag-Com logs.

From what I've read, it's a significant improvement over earlier TIPs but less so on the later cars (mine included). It's certainly a beautiful piece of silicon engineering - the major difference is (I understand) the smoothed bend to the turbo..........

(excuse me while I go and handle it - maybe that's why mine's never made its way onto the car.....:hide: )

if you look at the 90 degree bend in the cast TIP that is currently fitted to your car and then look at the Forge you will see the apeture is quite a lot larger increasing airflow also the rest of the tube is far smoother internally.
at the end of the day the cast TIP is the weak link in the chain, you have uprated the engines ability to draw air through the carbonio CAI but this will never be any better than the restriction presented by the tight bend just before the turbo.

you have an identical engine set up to me, i am sure you will feel the difference!

i was talking to jim at JKM and he mentioned that you have fitted your lowering kit, dont suppose you have any piccies?

charlie - piccies are on www.leoncupra.co.uk :) Well, a before and an after pic anyway.

I'm gonna be getting front/rear ARB's in the very near future to sort out my knocking and improve handling at the same time :)

Will have to see how I go with money, and then get the TIP fitted and next on the list is FMIC...... :)

Am gonna see if Forge will do a GB on the FMIC as they have done one for every other car ;)

i would certainly be interested in a FMIC group buy, its the big one and a big wodge of cash, thats the painful part. amazing piece of kit though.

let me know if you do pabs, i am sure i will be up for it.

I would say fitting the TIP is one of the most worthwhile mods to do, I definitely noticed a difference when i put mine on.
You can hear the turbo more, the throttle response is smoother and the car pulls harder:D

I'd agree with that 100%

I'm so glad I got mine, and even more glad I got BigBoysToys to fit it because it looked a swine!
No problems with the engine cover going back on, but I've still got a Bosche DV, not an aftermarket, so maybe that's why.
