Coming home tonight & had the wipers on constant.
I noticed that when I was in traffic the wipers revert to intermittent.
I thought I was going mad when they stopped!:D

It's not the full blown auto rain sensors, but it's a nice little touch.

sorry to rain on your parade but its not auto wipers - quite a few cars drop to intermittant wiper speed when a car stops. still its pretty good though!
btw - have you found that creepy button that when you press it the windscreen cleans by itself?! very scary:p

its nice to have though the one feature i really wish i had was auto dimming rear view mirror - anyone know if this is possible as a retro fit?

Probably, I would imagine everything is contained in the mirror.

Had that on my R32 and hated it. Ended up putting a piece of tape over the sensor as you could not tell who was behind you in poor light conditions. Or when reversing with a light behind you you could not see anything, out of my garage was a pia also in car parks.

Something ive noticed is that if you leave the front and rear wipers on when you park up, only the back ones start up again when you set off.... you have to cancel thwe front ones and start them up again....

It's part of this speed sensitive wipers (the normal ones). If you leave it for a few seconds they'll come on when you set off.

Most modern wipers tend to need to be 'restarted' simply as a safety feature. For example, if it's not safe or appropriate to wipe (eg. very icy or snowy conditions, or because someone's head is in the way!) they don't start automatically just because you left them on. (Similarly, they don't stop in the middle of the windscreen when you kill the engine like the old ones used to).

My experience of self-dimming mirrors has been quite positive - the Peugeot 307's were very good and also came with an on/off switch, although to be honest I never switched it off. Would be interested to find out if these can be retrofitted, although I reckon I can live with dimming it manually if needs be.
