Right, small update, just spent 15 mins changing the EGR gasket to remove low RPM hesitation;
http://www.fabia-vrs.com/technical-info/blt-engine-hesitation-fix/

Yes i burnt my arm as my engine was hot, and yes its fiddly, but....i think its made a difference and theres definately a little bit more poke from the offset and less smoke...i think!

Part number is on the link above, Dave @ SERE can supply for about £1.50, but dont just buy one of them eh! Give him a nice order!

Tube marked X is the one with the gasket behind

"The phenomenon affects the Fabia vRS from 10/2005 onwards fitted with the engine code BLT, including the Fabia vRS Special Edition." :p

So all facelift PD130's?

Same engine code as mine, and i think its made an improvement.

I've tried the same thing on my Fabia. Putting the 9mm gasket on cured the hesitation but brought the engine light on. A read of the Briskoda forums reveals that it needs to be drilled out to a slightly larger size to avoid the warning light. I've yet to do that, perhaps in the next few weeks.

I've also cleaned out the EGR valve, although it's located at the top of the engine, while that gasket is down the back, so it's a separate job really.

Right, bit of advice needed really, cars booked in on thursday for cupra wishy and ARB bushes.

Bonnet bra is in the post to me, thanks to Markie.

In term of exhausts, im either thinking backbox or cat back. Needs to be really subtle but a nice noise.

Anyone recommend one? Rough idea of price as well please.

Thanks all,

Jimski

I love my cat back milltek :) highly recommended, not noisy but sounds good when I do boot it a bit, but then i did go for the quieter option!

Sweet, how much was it fitted? I'm obviously after the best deal :p

Cars booked into a specialist tomorrow for a few tweaks, then 'hopefully' onto some vinyl action!
