I'm not sure how the Mk 5 Ibiza's headlights are designed but a good trick to stop/slow this down is using a little silica gel pouch placed inside the headlight. It doesn't need to be placed specifically, just within the sealed area. I put one on the inside of the access cover of my Mk 4 and used a sticky pad to hold it there.

You usally get them in packaging for many things such as trainers, furniture, PC parts, etc... and their purpose there is to absorb moisture to maintain the product they're bundled with. See if you can dig one out from somwehere and pop it in.

It usually works a treat!

Will see what I can do. Fortunately as I said it is just light condensation, still annoying though but I can live with it.

I think what jc means is the water vapor film in the projector lenses.

I have had a Fabia for three years with the projector type headlights and the condensation drops the lumen output considerably. I believe a proper sealing and some added desiccant would solve this but haven't had the time to tackle it.

The worst you can do is to seal the headlight. If you do, the moisture will have nowhere to go and you will never get rid of it. If you have the xenonlights, just wait it out or do as someone else said, put a bit silica gel inside it, but probably it will go away by itself and no need to worry.

I might have missunderstood, but it sounded like someone said, that it was the xenons fault about the moisture. That is completely wrong anyway. The xenon-lights are a lot cooler than the halogen ones. The heat from the halogen-bulb can cause this fog in the headlight, but the xenon is much cooler and its rare to cause this. Mostly its caused by a crappy design actually... To bad ventilation of the headlightunit. Yes, ventilation. In my Volvo S40, there are multiple rubbertubes going from the headlights to ventilate any moist out.

If you really cant stand having the moist inside and its allready there, do this:
Open the rear cover to the headlight, use a hairdryer and blow it dry. Or if you have a warm garage, just open the headlights as written above and leave it to dry naturally under night.. Had this problem with my Leon FR -09 (Xenon), my ibiza sport -07, and now my SC Cupra.. In my Ibiza -07, seat changed one headlight on the warranty due to a leaking seal in the bottom of the unit.

mmmmmmmmm now you see, i never knew that the xenon is cooler hehehehe. learnt something new this morning, yippee!!!!! I am not too bothered about the condensation tbh mate so will leave it to evaporate at it's own pace.

Mine does it too. Seat say if it clears within a certain time i think its 20mins then no action can be taken. Skoda octavia rear lights are pretty shitty too. Mind you so is the car.
