Lok at the old ones then. 7 points, play dot to dot. comes out - tells punter 'this is really smooth' which is will be as it's only 6 straight lines 'best i've seen'

but rst_cupra_r is right.

dimsport.com used to list all teh maps, then they took them off since they got sussed - log in as a guest to see in teh database if they still run it.

Back to teh point - I'm sure their maps are very good, but don't expect them to do anythink custom if you stick an air filter on your car.

Personally I don't see how any one of these companys can say that there map is tottally custom as what works well on a rolling road won't work on the real road. There has to be a certain amount of common ground between them all,So are custom maps just one generic map that has been tweaked by Revo,Jabba,APR,JBS ? ? ?

I only ask as How can these firms charge such a variety of prices for what is really the same thing?

Don't get me wrong The map I have on my car is fine .But I wasn't looking for that last 5% that custom maps claim over generic ones.

For a totally biased view, I had the generic map from Jabba on my otherwise standard Cupra 180. It transformed the car far more than I'd hoped. I've since then added a catback exhaust and emailed Jabba to see if that, and the imminent addition of an induction kit would benefit from a remap to take that into account. They replied telling me that it wasn't really worth it, that the generic map would take the new mods in to account well enough without necessitating a return visit.
My only regret was that I still haven't had the car on the rollers to see what the numbers are...

I always see this arguement come up - custom isnt custom. Nuff said.

If you turn up with a car they havent mapped before then it would be made from scratch (probably)
If you turn up with another LC (of which they have done loads) they are just gonna slap on the code they have been using, and then a few final tweaks at the end.

Jabba code etc is only usually available from 1 place - if you get a problem you have to drive all the way back to them to get it sorted. People like REVO are all over the place - therefore bound to be one near you. And an SPS "customises" the map (in a way) anyway.

Everything I have said above it my opinion and vague. Do what you want at the end of the day, its your money.

Oh, and as for Jabba giving slightly better results - revo now have stage 2 etc, and other codes have new versions for more power to match that of jabba etc.

they only way u get custom is to "live map" which is done on private road or track wit laptop and lambo sensors and whole load of wires attached to ur cars ecu "chip" and thy can then map how u want the car to be at different revs and differnt power (kinda how a apexi/hks/blitz boost controler works once u have ur so called custom code") for example on my rs turni i had live mappin and 1st gear i had only 8psi till 3k revs thn accuator would open to allow more boost up to 11psi this prevented un-neccesary wheels spin then i had more and more psi added up the ear and rev range till my turbo was kickin in from 2k till 7k on 4th an 5th runnin 20psi, and a boost controller allows u to contect the unit up to ur ecu and change the setting from in car but u can only really slightluy change an remap as there not as versatille as a live map,
anyway thats alot of **** there its just wat i have read and learnt and had experiance wit

They can be custom...
you cant bolt on things like IHI's and run std codes... they have to be adjusted..
Jabba do it, emulator onto ECU... physical chip, or run/log/reflash like I do with CC.

It is'nt std code when its done.

and thats exactly how it is done on BT conversions for example..
use MAP,EGT, Wideband, as well as CF from car, induction temps etc etc etc

adjust maps to suit. on the road or RR.
(RR is kinder to your license tho  )

Sorry Bill didn't explain myself I meant lightly tuned as in a remap or filter/exhaust.
