Hi all,

I have looked on here as much as possible, but can't find that many people with Jabba remaps on their LCR 225.

I am booked in next week for the remap and the car is completely standard. I have a Forge DV on order from Bill and that will be on there for the map.

What kind of figures did people get? I have heard only good things of Jabba. Can anyone who has had it done let me know how it went? I am excited but a the same time worried about what I am letting myself in for... They are safe aren't they? I keep hearing about limp mode and other horror stories. please put my mind at rest...

they did a top job for me... no problems. mines not a 225 tho. they mapped it to 242bhp from 180 but i also have a dp which was proberly giving 10bhp within that figure.

lag increased a bit but got a stronger spring for the dv which helped.

jabba themselves very friendly and helpful, very knowledgeable.

enjoy the map :D

I'd take somethimg to read with you it takes a long time i was there 5-6 hours and theres not alot to do around there i've had no problems with the car what so ever no limp mode no hesitation the car just pulls like a train

A few spring to mind, you can search for posts by them

Yello used to have an Jabba's LCR - 280bhp 275lbsft or similar
Syphon has a Jabba'd LCR - similar figs
Russboy - used to be on the forums and had one similar fig's
Mitchy - Think he has a Jabba Remap (Oh and a shot of NOS)

Cheers guys,

It's always nice for you all to reply so promptly.

My friend's Dad has his mk3 Ibiza mapped to almost 200BHP there and he said that Mike there is very knowledgeable. I've heard that it's a good drive down there (even better drive back) but you'll spend a lot of time sitting, reading and playing on the X-Box - sounds good to me!

I was told on the phone to expect 265-280bhp but the site www.jabbasport.com says 250-270 if I remember correctly. I am not that bothered really about pug-bragging figures; I just want a more responsive motor - but the more power and torque the better!

I will aks about the boost controller once there, but at the moment, it may be a no-go. I may just use my right foot as the controller at present, as I only I drive it. I have invested in a Forge DV, however.

What else could I do or get? I want a bit more performance, but I also want grip too - 225 through two wheels is bad enough in the winter months! However, I don't want to spend too much on modifications for 2 reasons: 1/ Insurance and 2/ I will probably keep the car for another 18months/couple of years and try and buy a standard 300bhp plus car (once I reach the golden age of 25!)

So, are there any other must-have essentials, lads?

Thanks so much again for the reply. Do you get a print out of your figures? if so, I will put it up to let you know. As long as I get an extra 40brake I will be pleased. My girlfriend's already terrified when 225horses are unleashed :)

I have the jabba remap and its very nice and smooth. Holds 20/21psi up until around 5800, dropping to approx 17psi at 6500rpm

I wouldn't bother with the boost controller, it is a waste of money IMO.
It looks like a cheap 10p plastic knob that is stuck onto your dash, god knows how jabba can charge £150 for this! It must be worth, seriously about a fiver!
It does the job dont get me wrong, but i very rarely use mine at all!

As to power figures, dont take what you get at jabba as gospel. You'll not produce the same results anywhere else is all i'll say!

Expect a minimum of 260bhp and an absoloute maximum of 270bhp! (However jabba will probably read in between 270-280) A remap alone will not give you more than 270bhp, i dont care what anyone says! (The JBS rolling road day proved this)

However there torque figures usually seem to be spot on, if not under reading! At jabba i had 290lbft, at JBS i had 296lbft and at awesome 305lbft. (Although i did add supersprint cat back exhaust in between JBS and awesome)

LOL, you do realise there is a controller attached to the end of that knob ;) not just a knob stuck on the dash, and self wired into loom etc... :D :p

BMC/Dynatwist/Ram air are the most preferred!

BMC probably being the best as its carbon enclosed, matches the engine cover and expels heat better than any metal covered filter.

Old or new rollers...

Different results from new ones... lower bhp and higher torque (loaded fully)

Yes im referring to the old set. Not sure how the new set compares although we'll probably find out when he gets his rolling road plot!

BMC is approx £175-£185 but a quality piece of kit! The dynatwist is around the same price also!

If you do a search a lot will be revealed on where to get them from etc!

Bill, i wasn't actually sure how it was wired in

Does it control the wastegate? Where is it directly wired into? Ive looked everywhere but cant seem to find it

The boost controller itself is inside your dash (remove fuse box to see it) and it's a much larger box - probably the size of a couple of packs of ciggies - which is where that 'cheap' knob goes to. This is then wired into the ECU itself through the bulkhead and under the wipers. All this takes time and you're paying for that, and jabba's design work in building the thing. It's not expensive :)

also it is mapped to the car so when you turn the 'cheap knob' to max you get your 20psi and min you get stock 10psi

i must admit i barely ever turn my down but unplugging for std is a help.

plus means if its really icy and your having diffficulty with keeping grip instead of leaving it all down to your right foot you can dial back the boost.

the same goes for hot summer days so you can dial the boost back to decrease heatsoak

Its cunningly wired into the N75 circuit. neat innit.. took me a while to dig out where they spliced in.
