are those graphs off your car? Do you have the 5200rpm flat spot also? There is deffo a boost dip there on the graph.

No, not off my car, although I do have a bit of dip around that point (had always thought it may be based on me using OEM DP & cats and no extra cooling). However I fell it less since going for another step cooler plugs.

I'm not sure if this car was an Ed30 or a Leon.

ed 30, custom miltek TBE, ITG intake, KMD hpfp, THS intercooler.

mine on a k03 made 8hp over my previous code red air intake(which made about 5-7hp over my carbonio panel filter, so potentially 15hp+on a k03, this was whlst onbluefin which had the big drop in Air mass at 5k, which is now gone:)

My Cupra gained +- around 17hp more with the ITG intake over the stock intake with carbonio and K&N panel.

Car spec being Mk2 Cupra : APR Stg2+, APR 3" TBE, ITG Intake, APR Pump, APR intercooler.

What gains did the Dbilas give Z?

i dont really rate the dbilias as an intake.

one of the biggest thing about an intake is filter surface area. the dbilias has tiny panel style filter where it attaches to the front slam panel, restrict the amount of ontop of that the heat shield has slot styled words"dbilias" on it, meaning the heat can pass through easier, pretty much negating the whole idea of the heat shield.

add to this the non standard size internal MAF diameter-essential to correct fueling and AFR etc(some people have used a sleeve inside to correct this)

plus its quite heavy, and feels like its made of iron or something.

worse of al it sounds like darth vader lol.

my personal choie of filter would be

ITG
Twintake
Evoms
BSH true seal
HKS
VF engineering

I helped Mike TFSI replace his Dbilias intake with the ITG, and his car didnt feel as quick at first as his car needed to adapt to the amount of extra air entering the engine once adapted and his AFR was running as it shoud he believes it to be stronger than previous dbilias output.

that said the dbilias will still be alot better than stock

but

I think you will find Mark (Z) post here shortly that the figures for his car with the Dbilas and ITG filters are much the same ;)

The difference of a couple of bhp (as memory serves) may well be down to temp on the day and a variation of code used with the ITG being a specific Stage 2+ type code and a milder code being used with the Dbilas.

I will be changing out my Dbilas this year for a cone type filter, but I dont want a foam filter, so the ITG has been ruled out. Once the diff and other planned bits have been fitted, I will make a decision at that point but I will only be changing the Dbilas for the purpose saving weight and its lack of intake roar as the Dbilas is a reasonable piece of kit in my eyes.

When you get over 300bhp a few BHP is neither here nor there, however I would say the sustained surge I am able to get from the car makes it feel real world quicker by some margin than the Carbonia/OEM airbox I used previously.

I can't speak for the dbilas as I haven't used one, but the one thing Andy Jackson at ITG is convinced about is the use of wider diameter piping right up to the MAF restriction enabling a better constant supply of air on tap at any rev band / speed (and hence offsetting some of the effects of the 90 degree bends).

To me it was more about matching the intake Revo had used to develop stage 2+ so I could get some consistent performance as aftermarket ancillary matching seems to become more or a dark art these days.

peak figures are only half the story, you need to look at how it performss accross the entirr rev range in comparison

Absolutely, but going by my r/r graphs with a Dbilas, I would be surprised if a cone made much of an improvement as my cars plot was fantastic with a nice power curve and super flat torque curve from spool to approx 6000rpm with a Dbilas fitted.

a gain of 15bhp would be nice, as warren said before, about the same as a dp and sports cat at not far off half the price.
yeah the owner of the company i bought my milltek from yesterday was saying how he had been testing the itg kit for their demo 997 turbo, and couldnt believe how good they were. they then began testing them on the vag tfsi, using a ed30 and said i should definately get one for my fr, he said itg had recorded an increase of 40bhp over the oem intake on an ed30, and sure enough when i sat down to read redline last night there it was. The company in question is now offering maps specifically for itg filters/ intakes so ill definately be changing from superchips once ive got the cai and maybe an upgraded intercooler

the ITG on the leon is awesome as well. much louder than on mine, although i heard it on a k04 not k03 like mine though

take the full 40hp with a pinch of salt though, the guy had been running the ITG for a fair while so his car was fuly adapted to it, it was then swapped to the oem box for the before dyno run, performed a few runs, then swapped back for the ITG, also the settingson OEM had to be wound back ever so slightly to get the most out of it, but even taking into account that, the gains are substantial
