The original GIAC hammer map had a claimed figure of 330bhp based on no mods as memory serves, and most cars with the code made way less than this.

the hammer map was brought out to take the HPFP, the map prior to that was the race file and before that it was pump
pump 305ish satge 1
race 330ish stage 2
hammer 350-360ish stage 2+

these are the figures i were told when i got the upgrades, they might not be right but thats what i was told from the garage. no names

FYI mine was the following if this helps,

Revo Stage 1

RR before remap
253.8 BHP
224.2 lb/ft Torque

RR after remap
317.0 BHP
306.6 lb/ft Torque

I want to do it again now i have the ITG at AMD RR to see what it comes out at...

Be good to see what other people get as i know its abit of a dyno lottery!

Impressive, especially against mine

225bhp b4, 273bhp after! (down 15bhp from standard)
Just trying to find out what possibly could cause the dip?

ITG planned but i'd like to see something around 300bhp on the RR (Dyno dynamics) b4 the ITG and then again afterwards

Here is my take on this.

Having logged Owens GIAC car at the weekend, fuel pressure was logged at a max of 126Bar. My car with all the same mods and Revo S2+ peaks out at about 132.49Bar. Boost on Revo was also higher than GIAC based on boost setting 8 for what its worth.

The OEM fuel return valve is not rated as high as the code commands and the flat spot occurs when the request for fuelling is at its highest. The RS4 valve removes this limitation.

I am willing to bet that the reason for the flat spot issue is that some cars will have a Monday morning or Friday afternoon valve, hence the reason some cars do it and some dont. I am also willing to bet that the reason more Revo cars appear to suffer is because of the higher demand for fuel on their map combined with the compromised valve.

I am actually trying to find a fuelling log of my car with S2 code to see what the max fuel request was vs S2+. As the S2+ code is based around an uprated mechanical pump, and knowing what Revo said about it at the time, it was specifically designed for cars with uprated fuel pumps and the request for fuelling was a little more advanced than it was on stage 2.

Therefore, my theory would be that the issue is hardware related based on demand from software, just as it would be problematic having a standard exhaust/fuel pump on a car with S2+ code. In other words there is no issue with Revo code.

When I get the RS4 valve fitted next Thursday along with the diff, clutch, arb's, WALK, short shift, catch can, diverter valve etc, I will be able to confirm this ASAP. Hopefully it will also get rid of the damned jingling noise the car has had for some time too which I also believe is the fuel return valve shitting its pants :)

In addition, I will also be speaking to Kev to see if Revo will be doing an equivalent of the extreme file for cars with the uprated valve and a bigger intake - the prerequisites for the GIAC extreme file.

Not to put a damper on things, but the the RS4 valve has been fitted to a revo stage 2 plus car with the flat spot, and it hasnt solved the issue. I do hope you will still go ahead with it though and post your own findings though.

Ive also read alot of interesting things about revos stage 2 plus recently but it wouldnt be fair to post up those details as of yet without any real proof.

One thing I will put out there and there is only hearsay, but revo are apparently revising their stage 2 plus map.

Not sure they will. The thing is that GIAC have made numbers claims in the past, and the cars with GIAC software failed to live up to the claims.

I would be interested in seeing a genuine 390bhp out of a K04 car, but I would fear that there may be a catch or fly in the ointment somewhere.

Yeah but to be fair so have revo.

Revo claimed 360hp with TBE and pump.

I dont believe a car with those mods will make a honest 360hp at all.

Not that I can recall bud - they were always fairly pessimistic when I was getting mine done, and the nice results were welcomed when the car was tested - I got 354bhp on mild Stage 2 settings when it was thought I would only get 330bhp. Can you give me a phone regarding your post #48 above please lad.

Back from the dead
but revo are apparently revising their stage 2 plus map.

Strange, I was at Revo on Tuesday and there were no implications of this.

Be careful what you read on the web, there is a lot on conjecture. I'm not saying it isn't right or fair, and it seems very much like you're being methodical and sensitive about publishing it without the supporting evidence.

However make sure you give Revo a chance to respond to your concerns before starting any campaigns. Otherwise urban myths like the 'K&N filters kill your MAF' saga can erupt, which in many cases are untrue and unhelpful to readers and the industry.

There is a lot of bad blood out there at the moment between certain tuners, some of which I was exposed to on Tuesday, and it's not pretty and I don't like it (not Revo by the way). I'm a great believer that when tuners start being openly defamatory to other tuners it's usually out of envy or desperation rather than articulated fact. I didn't see a queue of tow trucks at Revo on Tuesday with failed customer cars on the back.

If there are issues, then we need to present logs, facts, examples of cars and approach it in a straightforward way; and not by starting internet cliques where we throw about half cooked up conjecture.

I know there is a belief Revo have a difference philosophy to some other tuners, but TBH that is why I chose them. They push the envelope a bit, which is what makes my wooden Audi a bit more exciting at times. If I get issues I open dialogue and talk to them about it once I have a demonstrable case.
