Had the clutch fitted today, really happy with it, the clutch is a lot lighter and the power seems to be more direct. Only thing is, when I started the car before the clutch was abit noisey, sounded like somthing was knocking, sounded like the release bearing. Went away when i pushed in the clutch but then came back when I let go of the clutch. Went away completley after driving for 5 minutes. Im hoping its because its still bedding in. Anyone else had the same?

Done around 300miles driving today, clutch worked like a dream, but the knocking is still there, sounds like the release bearing is worn out even though its a new one.

Anyone else have this with their G60 fly and VR6 clutch?

From euro car parts:

LUK VR6 clutch kit & release bearing - 641 440 660
New slave cylinder (normal 1.8t one) - 137 440 070

From VAG:

G60 Flywheel - 028 105 269 BX

Bolt:
N10 101 001 x 6
N90 206 103 x 6

The clutch was £88, Flywheel and bolts were £166.

The slave cylinder isn't necessary, but I think mine is abit faulty so having it replaced.

I saw the single mass conversion kits on Euro car parts aswell, I dont think its meant to be as good / handle the power as much as the VR6 G60 combo.

I'm looking at getting this set up, have a feeling my dual mass is breaking down

Is it definate that the seperate G60 flywheel and VR6 clutch is better than the Valeo kit from ECP? I'd rather get the kit as it comes with everything you need, but if it's not up to the job I won't bother. Feedback appreciated...
Thanks.

Thanks.

A few people have reported problems with the kit.

Personally, I would rather spend a bit more on buying the bits separately than having the hassle of taking out the clutch again.

Alex the noise you are hearing could possibly be the input shaft chattering due to the single mass flywheel. If the car drives nice and it doesnt get any louder/worse it is most problably just chatter. Mine does it and so does my mates mk4 with this setup on. Has been doing it for 1.5 years now so i wouldnt worry just yet.

Cheers Dan,
Yeah the car drives fine, and has done since the conversion was fitted.

If you want the clutch conversion - then yes, all the parts stated above will be needed.

If you just want your clutch fixing, just buy a new clutch.
