'torques' as Jeremy Clarkson talks about came from.

That was the stupidest thing I have heard on Top Gear for a while. The first time I heard him say "Torques", I was like :wtf: , must of misheard something. But now he keeps saying it and IMO makes him sound like a proper Ned that doesnt have a clue about cars, . Lol, torques, what a silly word.

I've had both a 8v and a 16v, bought the 8v first and loved it, unfortunately it was rear ended and written off. Got the 16v at the moment and it is an amasingly good drive if you can keep it on the boil and on the road, and will give many modern cars a good run for their money.

However its cost me more to maintain than the 8v, drinks a significant amount more petrol and is much harder to drive at 100% (the gear change is especially bad).

theres a two page spread in this months practical performance car about the mk2

Not very comprehensive and some facts are nearly true...but good to see non the less....

Just managed to skim read my issue.

Pic is an 8v but spec reads 16v. No mention of chassis/suspension similarity to VW nor any mention re brakes.

Not sure about comment re Polo 085 box too as this is a lower spec 'box.

I'm sure standard wheel size was 6Jx16 not 6.5J as article.

That's what I thought. The article also goes onto say that all Cupra models come on the 16" wheels when the 8v is on 15s. IMO a lot of anomalies and inaccuracy there for such a brief article.

Hello mate

Is your car lowered on basic lowering springs. I've got an 8v and wana lower the car but not sure what I should get? Don't wana comprimise the handling too much neither.
