Is it possible to upgrade MY18 firmware on the large screen? NOT maps (already done).

I get lost in the threads for other cars about this stuff so thought I'd ask specifically about our car/unit. Does a firmware update exist and can we do it at home?

I'm jealous of the screen images in this thread this thread but even if that's not possible I'd love to see if a firmware update would get rid of the issues I have with Android Auto.

This is the data in the car (but I've updated the maps twice since taking it).

But to answer your other question. You cannot have the same software shown in the thread you posted. That car is MY20/21, and it uses the MiB3 head unit, with integrated wireless, etc. So it is different hardware, even though the head unit mask looks the same as our MY17-20.

Most Android Auto issues are resolved by updating the app itself on your phone. Make sure you have the latest. You can look on APKMirror to see if that is the case. The cars head unit is just a display for the data processed on your phone. So no real logic is handled by the head unit once you are inside of AA.
