Is it 8v or 16v ?

having owned an 8v previously (now own a valver) I can say the engine is far from breathless! mine made 150lb/ft of torque! and on the road the 8v is 90% as quick as a 16v, occasionaly quicker due to the torque being produced very low down in the rev range. I also trackdayed it a fair bit and on most sprint type tracks with mainly 3rd gear and below corners an 8v will stay with a 16v quite well. the main difference on the road and track that I've observed since getting a 16v is that the 16v works its magic above 5k revs and once at the top of 3rd gear (nearly 100mph in 16v but 90ish in the 8v) and changing to 4th gear results in very impressive acceleration in the 16v but the 8v starts to lose it a bit by then. but on the road you've lost your licence anyway at these speeds!

sounds daft but heart says 16v and love em but for my head i would go for an 8v myself as track car

mind you i must confess my current gear ratios probably don't help much :)
