Err, sorry but led colour is determined by mix of chemicals inside not voltage. And after a bit of training soldering these by hand is a piece of p**s I do it all day some days 0603 or 0402 refers to size in thousandths of an inch therefore 6 thou by 3 etc. So you could change colour reasonably easily if you can get LED's and can solder them! If anyone feels like taking dash apart, sourcing LED's and sending me both then for a pint I'll solder! Only small issue may be resistor used to supply correct voltage to each one, some colours need higher or lower, white usually needs higher, cos of way they work but if just changing red to green you should be fine!

Yes you are right, the voltage does not determine the colour, but the colour does determine the required voltage:-

As a rule of thumb, different colour LEDs require different forward voltages to operate - red LEDs take the least, and as the colour moves up the colour spectrum toward blue, the voltage requirement increases. Typically, a red LED requires about 2 volts, while blue LEDs require around 4 volts. Typical LEDs, however, require 20 to 30 mA of current, regardless of their voltage requirements.

Good point too about the resistor required to correct the voltage supply, how easy would this be to 'add in'?

Still think I'll stick with RED. The dealers want £250-300 for a new cluster if it gets screwed, not that I'm doubting your soldering skills mate ;)

The supplying resistor will be coded tho, 3 no's giving its value, from this and known requirements for new led the new R value should be a doddle to work out! If its not coded lift one and measure? Always fancied havin the redline portion of rev counter in blue or darker red one day I might even get round to doin it!

Hmm, I'm not sure whether I want to risk this now... Gone are the days it was all light bulbs! :headhurt:

I don't mind about keeping the rest of the lights red, it's just the dash

Those dials are pretty damn awesome...

I'd love some from the new Scirocco in my car! I would get a Scirocco, but the new one is so damn ugly!
