Spraying NOS or CO2 on to a FMIC is very expensive, bulky, heavy, inefficient way to cool you inlet charge. A 10lb bottle only last 5-6 minutes of constant use.

Thats why i'mthinking water as it will be alot cheaper to buy, install and run..... and on thinks like santpod i will just bring crushed ice put that in the water and watch the intakes fall i was racing a clio 182 the other night at the begining of the race i was caning him it wasn't even close but then after about 5 roundabouts and 5 miles it wasn't so close anymore i was only just getting past him then i looked at my intake temp it was 72 degree's  so i do need to do something to reduce these temps?? is there anything else but the fmic that is directly linked to intake temps if not i would just have to assume the forge one is inadequate ad will have to start looking for a better fmic!! what do you guys think?? would bad mapping lead to high intake temps?? i wouldn't have thought so... but i'm no mastermind in this subject!

bit of an update!! i have bought a washer jet kit from ebay and i am just going to put that in for a bit and see what happens, this is just a kit with two twin nozzles i will prob be mounting it all in the boot to keep it away from the hot engine, just a bit worried about the pump not creating enough pressure but we shall see i will let you know how it goes when i fit it next weekend!!

I still think you'd be better off getting a bigger intercooler.

The Forge one is good on a standard turbo'd remapped tdi, my temps rarely went over 40 degrees.

But as yours has a bigger turbo so a bigger intercooler would be better IMO

i'm going to try these things first i really don't want to have to spend another £800 on a new intercooler which to be honest won't be much bigger, if this doesn't work then i will prob go to pro alloy and say i want a bigger core to fit these pipes!!

I have already looked at a cry02 and soon gave up on the idea. A bootle of CO2 only lasts 5-6 minutes if you use the air intake cooler and faster if using the intercooler sprayer which is why it is only used on drag cars.
daveyonthemove The link you showed is just for the spray bar you still need to buy a cylinder and installation kit. The cry02 system is exspensive to buy and run, it would be much cheaper to buy a bigger FMIC or a charge cooler then fit this kit on a normal road car.
Demon Tweaks are a very good company but they are also very dear compared to everyone else. If you do decide to get a cry02 system then get it from Funky styling as they are alot cheaper plus they have always been very fast delivery and good customer service whenever i have bought stuff off them in the past.

daveyonthemove The link you showed is just for the spray bar .....

Proves how much i looked into them ;)

Dropping the air temp on mine isn't really an issue (IMO) as the intercooler is just about as big as they can get them to fit, and as its a road car, not a track car it gets me where i want go reliably and quickly.
I can't justify spending that sort of money on such a small part of the engine, and carrying that stuff in the car would make me nervous in an accident.

Hi all bit of an update and its not great news lol it works but not that well, at the moment i am using 2 twin jet nozzels which isn't ideal as it doesn't give full coverage and sprays loads of water onto the fmic which wasn't the plan i'm going to get some honda jazz nozzells and see if that works better. The spray does work when the temps get upto the 60's but below that and it pretty much does nothing maybe drops it by 1 degree will post up some pics later so you can see what it looks like!!
