just had my renewal insurance form sent to me the other day for a LCR, it stated £830 for the year which was only a little bit cheaper than last year which i wasn't too happy as its now 8yrs NCB and i'm 25. NOW remember this was sent i didn't ring them or anything it was sent so you would think that thats the best price they could offer, yet when i went on the net with exactly the same details it came up at £700 ??? WHAT a joke, i haven't called them yet to complain but after doing lots of insurance searches i found esure which was £620 then i came on here and did a SEARCH yes it worked :p and found out about greenlight and that came back at £460 :D
so why is it they can send a renewal and it be £130 MORE than that from the net, i know the net usually gives you a 10% discount but this was sent to me?? how many people would have just accepted it, i cant wait to give em a roasting over the phone and ask them why?
btw it was from elephant.co.uk

Because there an insurance company! They're all like it. I spend around a full 8 hours shopping around for insurance when mines due and at the end of it i manage to get it half of the first price i got! My advice is that it pays to shop around for as long as you can.

They all do it. So long as you pay a little less each year most people stay with them and accept the costs.
I always try loads of different companys and play them off to get the biggest discount.
Always make good savings.

Why do you need to give them a roasting, just move your Insurance, and watch them squirm when they try to offer you allsorts, get them to reduce and reduce and eventually tell them your moving anyway,

Same as Empi5, do you think they will apologise and cut it by half, not going to happen
Get some other quotes by telling other companies your getting quotes for £650, then get back to them and make them fight for your buisness
Don't waste time shouting at them, you'll look like an idiot and they'll laugh at you (and probably put you on speaker phone)

Sometimes it's best to go with what isn't the lowest quote though - the AA weren't the most expensive for me, but the excess was manageable and they included things like legal fees.... Turns out they don't provide a hire car in the event of theft though - be warned.....

i would def recommend GREENLIGHT and what helps is putting a parent on it pref your mum who has lots of years driving experience and ncb. It dropped mine and friends by £150-£250 try it!

Greenlight was simply outstanding value for me on my new Loon FR.

My previous insurer was 'Its4me' underwritten by Advanced insurers, they quoted me £740 for the year on the FR.

So off I went to confused and moneyshopping.com to get a idea of quotes quickly.

My cheapest were:-

Esure ££560
Sainsburys £568

and i also did a manual quote with Tesco who came out at £580.

Then searched on here and heard good things about Greenlight, they have insured me for £480. Exaclty the same monthly premiums as I was paying for the 1.6 Focus :funk:

Greenlight for the w!n.
