I had a 40k mile service a couple of months back but now the INSP has appeared in the disply when I start the car. The last time this happened (OIL I think) I followed the instructions in the manual to get rid of it, but this time it doesn't go away. In the manual it states that INSP will go static instead of flashing as you follow the instructions but it doesn't. Any thoughts?

Cheers

i had this, it runs on mileage i think

to turn it off, i went to my garage and he had some instructions.. let me see if i can remember them

1) put the key in the ignition
2) push the trip button on the dashboard in and hold it there (the one next to the clock)
3) turn the electrics on
4) keep the button pressed in and twist it to the right (as you would if you were changing the clock). hold it there for a few seconds
5) keep it pushed in and let it twist back to vertical
6) turn the electrics off

it should reset the trip and remove the inspection flashing thing. which is very annoying yes

i hope i remembered this right

Sorry for the delay in getting back and thanks for the replies - I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was holding in the reset button underneath the indicator stalk rather than the trip reset! Doh! All sorted now though :)

Cheers
