Inside of Tyre worn from lowering?

I have had my Ibiza lowered (on KW 35mm springs) over the last few months and have noticed that the inside of the front tyres are more worn than the rest of the tyre. I have had the tracking and alignment checked and all four wheels are spot on.

The gargae mentioned that the camber on the front wheels is out so I was wonderring if anyone else who has a lowered Ibiza has noticed this on the front tyres and if so is this something I will have to live with as the camber cannot be altered on this model unless using coilovers?

Someone in the garage mentioned renewing the suspension bushes to ensure there is no play in the suspension or even installing a strut brace to push the mounts outward which makes sense. The car has done 50k miles would the bushes need replacing soon anyway?

Cheers guys

You have made a change to the steering geometry therefore you need to get a geo check done to ensure that everything is in aligntment. I had to get mine done after the gear box was changed.

I had my fiesta lowered and I had a little bit of tread on the tyres when I got it done but within four/five weeks the inside's were Totally bald!. See below.

Thanks for the info guys.

What is a geo check is this something that a tyre fitter can do? I had the four wheel laser alignment check and it came back fine all.

Geometry check ensures that the toe in, camber and suspension to chasis is correct, its singing and dancing lazer alignment. I use Feltham tyres in Slough. Did my ST2 RS Focus MK1 and the ST170's we had. Boc has been done by the dealer this time. Its bang on! No uneven wear this time.

Somewhere in a middle
Dispite lowering, each vehicle can have alignment done and keep tyres in proper condition without compromizing comfort or traction. When you do alignment/tracking or geometry - however you call it - with current cars requirements its really important to do it with very high accurancy but only newest setups can do it. If you go for that service - look for one with option for print out. That way you havde proove to what was done and you can always get second opinion without paying extra.

Going back to DaBigDogg`s problem... sounds like whoever did this for you did this to "spec". You need someone who understand alignment and will align your car to your current setup (lowered or raised) - not just to spec. This is where garages go wrong. Its not right to get your car on ramp and do job. You need to roadtest it understand problem - without this its impossible to resolve issue.

Good luck with yours.

So I went to a wheel alignment garage the other day were they have one of those Hawk Eye aligners and it showed that the front wheels were pointing out hence the inside of the tyre being scrubbed more. Feels alot better on the road now. Thanks for your advise guys really appreicate it.

If both the inside and outside are worn but the middle is OK the tyre pressures have been too low.
