Injector Programming

Hi guys,

I have recently swapped out my old set of injectors for new ones, due to one having a problem. (Logically i thought it would be a better idea to swap all rather than mix and match).

The problem I have now is programming them. I am currently borrowing a snap on solus ultra but having difficulties finding the area that allows for this programing to be done.

Can anyone help me on this?

Cheers

What car/engine? Injectors arent coded on the Mk1 so you shouldn't need to 'programme' anything

It's a 2003 Leon 1.9 TDI Cupra.

However the injectors are not directly from a donor seat, they are actually from a golf. Will this cause any problems?

Cupra has the ARL PD150 engine?

As long as injectors are from a 150 or 130 hp 1.9tdi they will be fine. Just make sure they're installed correctly. No coding needed should fire straight up.

Well thats good to know, however it still feels as though it's not fueling correctly. It sounds like very heavy knocking during start up and doesn't seem to rev smoothly during acceleration.

Could anything else be causing this problem?

So we have adjusted the rocker shaft adjustments and the engine sounds a lot better. However it is still not revving freely. The injectors being used are of the code BE. The waste gate actuator vacuum pipe all ok.

Really need help.

What model/engine (engine code) Golf were they from?

Have you checked the injector balance yet?

Hiya yeah, we've done the injector balance and the engine sounded better but there's still no power. The injectors were from an ARL PD150 Golf engine, I think a 2003. Are you sure it won't need coding? We're pulling our hair out haha

I mean checking the injector balance electronically with diagnostic equipment such as VCDS to see if the injectors are ok and functioning correctly.

Once you rule out the injectors as the cause, you then need to start looking at other causes

This is the sellers description of the injectors:

Golf gt tdi 150 fuel injectors x 4 part number 038130073al. These injectors came from a low mileage gt tdi 150. These injectors are often used to upgrade lesser model vag tdi engnes. They are the highest flowing original bosch injectors available for the vag pd engine. They have 0.216 injector nozzles and will flow enough fuel for approx. 230bhp.

Ive never used a Snapon, i use VCDS. It will display the injector balance like this:

But, it could well be something else. Look at live data readings and look for anything out of the ordinary. It could well be something plumbed up incorrectly, a misreading/damaged sensor, one of a hundred things

We're based in Cardiff, in Creigiau, is there any chance you'd be available to lend us a hand? Do you have this software with you?
