hello all. a little help is needed. i fitted a neuspeed indution kit to my lcr. all was fine for a few days. after a short run my turbo would not boost past 0.3 bar. also every thing was very very hot under the bonnet. if i turned of the engine and turned it back on, all was fine for 2 mins, and again same problem. after lots of head scratching, i still had no idea what the problem was. i replaced the n75 valve, the maf sensor, new split r dumpvalve, and changed all hoses for new red ones, and last but not least i put a dumpvalve relocation kit on. and still i had the same problem.
after lots of research i read a post on a scobby forum, another guy had the same problem. the response he got was, the induction kit was sucking in too much hot air and causing the car to run lean, this caused the turbo to overboost. due to the over boosting the car puts its self into limp mode. he then says to put the standard air box back on and you will have no problem.
this is what i did and its fixed my problem.
any way i am pleased that i dont have the problem, but i do miss the nice sound created by the induction kit. also its nice looks.
so can any of you guys recommend somthing i can do so that i can put an induction kit back on?

its a neuspeed induction kit, it has a metal heat shield.its similar to the jabba kit. it has a cold feed that runs from the front grille. when i say it gets very hot its the whole engine bay not just the induction kit. the dump valve gets so hot you cant even touch it.

I have no heat shield on my HKS mushroom and i don't go into limp mode.
On my experience, i'd be looking elsewhere.
Can you get it on vag-com?

You sure its not that split R valve putting it into limp mode? thats quite common problem most people use the forge 007p valve.

Edit...just re read it, doesn't explain why standard box is ok does it.

nope its very strange. the guy on the scooby forum said in the winter i wont have a problem due to the cold air. so inorder to have an induction kit i need the air to be cool as possible. so whats happening is, the maf sensor is picking up warm air which changes the fuel mixture, and makes the car run lean, and then puts it into limp mode.
forgot to say, car is ok if i unplug the maf sensor, but the light does come on after a while.

this sound exactley the same as mine!

iv been having the boost issues for around 4 months now and when you lift the bonnet its red hot like you say includingthe dump valve.

but as you say about the scooby forum mines fine when the engines cold or the weathers cool and damp, but when youve been driving it for a while th eboost goes but if you restart it its ok for about 2-3 mins which i pressume is the maf reseting then reading hot again causing the boost issue?

looks like i need a heat shield or standard airbox?

i have a heat shield and it doesnt make any difference. when i say i replaced the maf sensor, i took a second hand from a lcr that was written off. i did check and all the numbers on it are the same as the one i had fitted before. do you think that by pure bad luckthey were both on there way out, also do you think i should buy a brand new 1 from euro parts?
also im after a vag com but dont want to spend too much money, can anyone recommend 1?
