Immobiliser Removal?

Hi, I was down at tesco today and my key came apart when i was putting it in my pocket and i saw a tiny bit of plastic fall out, i thought i had just broke a bit of plastic in my key so i just left it, now my car only starts for about 1 second and dies!!! ive come to realize this was for my immobiliser and was just wondering if theres any way i can remove/bypass the immobiliser as the car i is not even work spending money on to get a new key, ive checked to see if i can find it but its no where to be seen, its sitting in tesco and wondering if i could do something to get it back home, Thanks for your help in advance

thanks for the reply , does this just keep the fuel pump running constantly? you wouldnt have any advice or tips on where these would be and how to go about doing this before i get there and realize i have no idea what im doing, thanks

look on the back of the fuel pump relay, or in the bundle going to the ecu and there will be a blue and yellow wire, check its the right one and ground it. It wont run the pump all the time, only on ignition.

You can see its the highlighted one in the diagram. I know it works cos ive done it on mine.

not the easiest thing to do in a car park admitedly, but you dont really have many options tbf :/

Looks like my only option thanks, where exactly is the fuel pump relay? is it 1 of them above the fuses in the drivers side glove box?

ive been at the car for the last hour and seem to be getting no where.... the fuel pump relay is it the relay on the bottom right of the panel in the drivers side glove box with the numbers 167 on it? if so i cant see any blue/yellow wire anywhere, thanks

ive been onebay and the fuel pump relays have 167 on them so i recon im looking at the right 1 in my car but i cant see any blue/yellow wire coming from the back of it?

if youre handy with a multi meter, try take the fuel pump relay out and turn the ignition on... normally the fuel pump will prime for a couple of seconds and then stop... obviously wont with the fuel pump relay removed...
so do that until you have found the correct one...
then with a multimeter test the pins on the fusebox where the relay goes into and see if any of them drop to earth when the fuel pump 'should' be priming... again it obviously wont prime cos the relay will be out... (It should drop to earth for a couple of seconds and then stop) if you can figure that one out thats the wire you need to give a permanent ground to.

The ecu controls the relay to control the fuel pump... if the immobiliser kicks in it wont ground the relay, thus the car will die from no fuel... if you give the relay a permanent earth, it will over ride the signal from the ecu...
^ Thats how it works so you get an idea of what youre trying to achieve

Thanks youve been such a help, Ill head back down tomorrow and have a try at what you just said... what actually connects onto the back of the fuse box for the fuel pump relay? is it a square connecter? the reason i ask is it was really dark when i was at the car tonight but even with my hand up the back of the fuse box i couldnt really feel or see anything? ( i have the fuse box off the hooks so its just hanging down but just not enough which is totally typical with this car) So basically im disconnecting the wire from the relay to the ecu by grounding it ? in a bad mood aswell because when iwas working on the car a feking trolly got blown across the car park and has put a massive ding in the drivers door!!!

Sorry for these double posts im just trying to make sure i have all i need before i make the 10 miles trip back to me car haha Could you or some1 else that knows explain to me what you mean by test and see if any of them drop to earth when the fuel pump should be priming?

i mean get a multimeter, make sure you have the correct relay socket for the fuel pump relay, remove the fuel pump relay, set the multimeter to the 'resistance' setting, put one of the multimeter probes to a good earth point, and the other you want to be testing which of the pins shows resistance to earth for a couple of seconds when you switch the ignition on...

youll have to put the probe in one of the pin sockets, switch the ignition on and see if it drops to earth... if it doesnt move to the next pin socket and switch the ignition on etc... theres only like 5/6 pins to check so it should take 2 minutes at most.

the one that drops to earth for a couple of seconds and then stops is the right wire.

Im not sure which of those will be the wire you need as its a while since i did mine, but G1 / 03 looks to be a good one (The wire colour might not be the same as the link i posted as thats a generic fusebox layout for many many cars)

If youre struggling to get to the fusebox you can always just go under the sctuttle panel and find the wire in the main loom the ecu?
That is what i did, theres only a couple of blue/yellow wires so its not too difficult to get to

i was just down at the car and to make things more difficult the battery has gone flat trying to start the car... Anyway I pulled out the connector on the back of the fuse box (G1) and now when the ignition is turned on the fuel pump doesnt make a noise so im guessing this is the correct connector. But when i take the key out the ignition or atleast turn it off the petrol and the revs bounce up and down until i put the connector back in. No idea why this is happening. Also you said about using the multimeter in the fuse box to check to see what wire i need to ground... The connector is at the other side of the fuse box so i dont see how i can work out which 1 i need to ground, The Wires i have going to the connector at G1 is ( Black, Red-Yellow, Green-Blue, White-Red, Blue-White, White-Blue ) I also took the scuttle pannel off and uncovered the wires and i cant see any Blue-yellow or Yellow-blue wire. Im really struggling with this but i need to get my car home.

Hi is it a yellow / blue wire on a 1.4 apq engine and is it in the loom that plugs into the ecu under the scuttle?

i checked today and never found a blue/yellow or yellow/blue wire there at all

theres deffinitely a blue/yellow wire there, it says it in Haynes and ive done it myself so i know its 100% there lol
It might not be that colour behind the fusebox as you may have found out but at the ecu end its deffinitely there. Going off the wiring diagram i posted the otherday id say you need to be testing the yellow and red wire behind the fuebox in that case, but youll not find out which one it is without actually testing them... if youve got the plug out from behind the fusebox now, go through all the pins on the plug and do the test i posted earlier to see if any of them drop to earth when you initially turn the key
