I'm stuck Help!!!!!!!

Hi I'm new to the site and am in desperate advice. I've got a cupra, engine agg 1999 I blew the engine on it about a year ago and sourced a new engine from a golf gti with low milage. Got it installed by a local mechanic and got it back about 6 months ago, ever since I have been having problems with it top ending at 5000 rpm and it being slugish and also when you put your foot down it does seem to struggle to accellerate smoothly. I have taken it in and had it serviced. replaced plugs, leads, all the filters including fuel. And also checked out with the computer with no problems and also passing it's mot no problem.

I am stuck, it has been suggested as I have a K&N filter on it I should replace it with a standard airbox as the fuel could be freezing

Anybody had any similar problems and if poss give us a nod as it will be a shame to get rid!!!!!!!

could be the maf, unplug it and take it for a drive, if it drives better then its dead, you say leads do you mean coil packs? or ask if anyone local to you has vag com who can do logs

Cheers. Just all the leads to the coil which I got as they were arking so replaced with splitfires. Also have tried changing fue to super unleadedl and also putting in injector cleaner and also additive. nowt Could it be the ecu but this was not changed when new engine was fitted
