Idle Speeds

With vagcom in the ECU and in measuring block 1 it reads the engines rpm. Mine at idle when hot reads 903rpm. What readings are other PD owners getting here? I had my vagcom connected to a 2002 PD130 and his read 861 rpm and the engine sounded a lot nicer and less noisier at that speed.

interesting that they have upped it slightly, as older gen TDIs were all just under 900 with vag com but the dial indicated 900.

When i reflashed my ECU with his software mine went to 861rpm too, engine sounds a lot better and quietier. Must set mine lower via vagcom.

Are the older tdi(non pd) single mass flywheel?
Maybe the higher idle is due to the dual masson the pd ?

yes as far as im aware they are SMF
