idle revs up and down

on idling my lc revs fluctuate up and down.

nothing major, can just hear from the exhaust the revs pick up a bit then drop and so on..

any common faults or obvious ideas?

Could be throttle body, do you have the engine management light on? Try searching, the throttle body is a common problem which can sometimes be cured with cleaning. I wasn't so lucky, I had the same problem with the revs, my throttle body needed replaced but since it was just a slight fluctuation I didn't bother replacing it, think a new throttle body was between £150-£200.

Mine does the same but to be honest the pin barely moves and can only hear it slightly.

Make sure the alternator is charging at 14.4v

My friend had a similar issue with his MG ZR, idle would be either really high, or really low. Turned out it was the Ht leads.

I've just searched for a throttle body on eBay there's 1 for £35 ?

From what I've read, it may be worth checking the MAF too - could be dirty and causing rough idle.

first thing is first , irratic idle check all your vacuum lines (common the split under intake manifold) check hardware first before looking at electrical items
