hi guys picked my 58 plate 1.6 sport ibiza in candy white up on friday and i wont to no what the best place to start to make it better also is there more power under there with some mods

From what I know, see if there is an induction kit available and a new exhaust. Do the mechanicals, then get a remap. If you remap first it'll be great untill you change the mechanicals and then it won't perform as well as one after will.

A remap on an engine without a turbo will only give a single figure BHP gain, mechanical mods will invalidate the warrenty on anything assosiated with said mods and also anly give small gains. This is unless you go silly with new cams, lightened flywheel and throttle bodys etc along with an exhaust and intake/filter.

That sounds quite reasonable to me. Now back cut valves + nitrous + removing air filter and anything behind the exhaust manifold is silly. Then again it is a lot of fun

You should notice the difference on a remap even without a turbo. I had an old golf gti mk2 done at amd when it was near oxford and it was totally different after the map, went from 112 to 135/40ish. As you have 105 bhp as standard an extra 10-15 will be noticable. Add an air filter and later a better exhaust and it will fly compared to standard.

will i see much improvement on a 1.4 petrol if i get it remapped?
