X car link

Hi guys

Bought an x car link for my mk4 ibiza. It has the Alana head unit in it. I took the head unit out to try and connect the 8 pin iso connector but there was no cd changer port at the back of the head unit.

Does anyone know if it is actually there and I am just thick or is it located somewhere else.

Would appreciate some help on this.

Thanks

Johnny

Hi Night flight

Saw your post on the ipod connecting into your ibiza.

I have just bought the x car link connection for my ipod. I took the head unit out and there is not space for the iso connector to fit it. There is only space if i take the steering wheel controls out, but obviously this negates what the product is supposed to do!!

Do you know of any other connector or adaptor that I could use to get around this problem?

Thanks

John

sorry to bring an old thread back to life is there now anything cheaper available to have ipod control from the stereo or steering controls as the car in question only has the 1.5mm jack.
ive seen the seat dealer version available at a reasonable price but reading the description it says only works on cars with combined usb and aux in port (cup) so obviously that wont be any good which is a shame.
the car is a 2011 ibiza fr any new info would be great many thanks.
